I'll say the frogs are grossly under-represented in games. I'd like to see a game feature a green frog. Maybe it takes place on a boat, nay, a cruise. And the frog sings a song about parties. And the frog's name is Kermit. And "One door's red and the other's blue when you play the Muppets Party Cruise!"

    I'm just spitballing here.
  • arehexes - March 19, 2014 5:28 p.m.

Waterbears, just that simple. These creatures can make the perfect survival horror monster. They can survive extreme temperatures, pressure, radiation, lack of water, and live in space. These could be the most terrifying creature to go up against knowing that they can live in environments like that.

I can really relate with Greg, I have a knack for being Optimistic, but I cant help it. I love my games and when any upcoming game gets me hyped I have to be. Whether we end up being right or wrong it doesn't really matter at some point we got excited and want to talk about it. With that said, I love Tropical Freeze, its details, its music, its variations in gameplay, goddamn, Retro really nailed it. The snowmads too were fantastically built and it got me thinking, we need more games focused on Arctic animals, polar bears, penguins, Walruses, they need more attention.

Platypuses! The mammal that makes you question your class status! It's a mammal! But it lays eggs! It's a mush mash of ducks, beavers, and otters!

The rat. Now I know what you're saying. You're saying, you're like, "THE RAT? THOSE THINGS — oh sorry, caps lock was on. Those things are everywhere!!" Well first of all, calm down. Secondly, yes, the rat is a popular animal choice, but its seemingly sole purpose as a video game animal is to be completely dumped on by even the lousiest of lousy role playing game characters. What's the first task in every Western RPG? Kill 15 rats. Always kill 15 rats. And it's so easy that even though you have 1 hit point and you're wearing nothing but a dishcloth for armor and using a yardstick for a sword, you can still kill those rats no problem because LOL, stupid-ass rats, right? Well how about this, tavern-owning lady, how about you just clean your basement once in a decade so rats don't have to populate the place and eat all the roaches and other insects, only to get slaughtered by some total stranger whom you just let in your basement? Why isn't there an RPG where I play as a rat and have to kill 15 tavern owners who have violated who knows how many health codes?

I think the animal magnetism is greatly underrepresented in games. Right? Riiiiiiiiight?! ...No? Anyone? Yeah, I'll see myself out.
  • rcarrasco121 - March 16, 2014 3:54 p.m.

Kangaroos. Imagine The Last of Us. But with kangaroos. Imagine BioShock Infinite. But with kangaroos. See what I mean? Games need more kangaroos.
  • shnazzyone - March 16, 2014 2:28 p.m.

There's never enough killer whales in games. Killer whales are like sharks but more intelligent. I feel like we need a game like Jaws unleashed but with killer whales. I'd call it, Blackfish resurrection or destiny unleashed.
  • TaserLime - March 16, 2014 2:09 p.m.

there should be more games starring the tetromino animal in games tetris the hedgehog
  • Shigeruken - March 16, 2014 5:59 a.m.

I'm liking this 'Alone in the Shark' idea. Mind if I work on an awful abomination of a game that uses assets I make in paint? Expect a Q4 2014 release.
  • GR_GregHenninger - March 16, 2014 10:02 a.m.

I will personally fund the entire project, Alone in the Shark is going places!

  • supergiraffe - March 16, 2014 3:04 p.m.

Get the guy making the Sweet (Suite?) walk game to do it.
  • Shigeruken - March 17, 2014 10:49 p.m.

Great! I could use a side project to keep me busy. (Please don't expect anything too impressive)
  • Sinosaur - March 15, 2014 4:26 p.m.

You have all ignored the most noble, fearsome beast in the land: THE OWLBEAR! Technically it's a magical beast, but since it's able to be influenced by Druids, it's close enough. It combines all of the silent hunting of a bear with the horrible power of an owl! They hatch from eggs and will totally claw you with their arm wings! Also I drew this picture of an adorable owbear named "Hoobear"
  • alecbeals - March 16, 2014 1:41 p.m.

So a boomkin from World of Warcraft?
  • winner2 - March 15, 2014 10:53 a.m.

I think the majestic manatee is underrepresented in games. It's rough yet tender frame never ceases to evoke wonder and creativity from the darkest depths of the imagination. The gentleness in it's eyes, it's soothing emanation of peace and tranquility, the humble way in which it floats through life spreading love and content wherever it goes, the manatee is truly god's most beautiful creation. Mankind has much to learn from the humble manatee, I believe it deserves far more reverence than we have given to other, far less glorious creatures, nay, beasts, such as the vicious dog or the foul arachnid.
