Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle 3DS trailer now playing, hint coins not required

While most of us are still flexing our gentlemanly puzzle-solving skills in Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, developer Level-5 is already whetting our appetites with a trailer for its upcoming 3DS entry, Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle.

It's narrated in Japanese, but one doesn't have to really understand the words to be awestruck by the innovate direction the series is taking. That said, prepare your own awe to be struck with the trailer below:

In case your video player is on the fritz, Mask of Miracle looks to endow the Professor Layton series a few striking upgrades including animated dialogue sequences and interactive 3D puzzle solving while retaining the series' trademark animation style.

No word yet on when our brains will be 3D-ified, but you can check out the newly revealed teaser site now.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future review
A gentleman always makes each game better than the last

3DS games to be “serious” says Iwata, and their next home console might be 3D too
Perhaps the 3DS will be safe from the casual plague that struck the DS

Let's hope Nintendo of America keeps it at $250 and not $300. Yet another game that I want to get. My wallet is going to kill me for this.

@Pocotron They haven't announced the American price point. Probably $250.

Oh, god. I'm too poor for this much awesome!!

Whoops, my B. I misinterpreted and thought that this meant that Mask of Miracle would be the next Professor Game they'd translate and bring over to America, and that they would skip The Specter's Flute. but that isn't the case (though it's still possible, though I certainly hope not)

why'd they skip to the Mask of Miracle? the mask of miracle is the 2nd part of a trilogy of sequels for Professor Layton. the 1st of this trilogy is the Specter's Flute, which is a regular DS game. come on, Level 5, don't skip the Specter's Flute!! That one looks really good!!
