Portal gun to be auctioned off for Child’s Play

Someone’s been busy doing science. Graphic designer and prop creator Harrison Krix has just unleashed footage of his latest personal project, a replica of the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device as seen in Portal. The one-off replica is scheduled to be auctioned off at the 2010 Child’s Play Charity event, which will be held in Seattle on December 7th.

You can check out some sweet footage of the device below and find out how it was made on Krix’ blog.

That's fantastic workmanship right there. I'm only sad that I won't get one, but at least the proceeds are going to a good cause.

The best thing that could possibly come from this? Valve offers this Portal Gun in the special edition of The Orange Box 2, which contains Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 3, and Half-Life 2: Episode Three. And the Team Fortress 2 updates would come to the Xbox 360. ...A person can dream.
