Hope you keep up those amazing outros for Pokemon Weekly Henry.

General question for anyone who's done this. About how many eggs did it take to hatch your shiny Pokemon of choice doing the Masuda Method? I know the what the odds are, but I want to see actual numbers to get an idea of how much longer I should be expecting to do this. Trying to get a shiny Froakie, because NOTHING is going to stop me from getting that Black Greninja! Hopefully it'll have Protean... I'll be distraught if it doesn't...
  • JarkayColt - December 4, 2013 12:24 p.m.

Pretty much, it's no use comparing numbers because the whole thing is down to chance. It'll just happen when it happens, which might be in 5 minutes, or it might be never. I think I've wrote on here before that I hatched well over 3,000 Eggs in White 2 with absolutely no luck, but in X I got a Shiny on just the 3rd Egg. In Platinum it took me about 40. It's literally just about how much time you're willing to burn on it, as well as just pure, dumb luck. XD Course, X and Y make it slightly easier because the general Shiny chance is slightly higher and the hatching O-Power speeds things up if you have access to it. Also, after Bank comes out (woo on topic!) I imagine that the Shiny Charm will be found again by those who fill the Dex (not that it helped me in White 2 >:[ )

Yeah...I think I was just looking for some kind of positive motivation. I'll just keep on trying, not like there's anything else to do. XY has no postgame.
  • Doctalen - December 5, 2013 9:17 a.m.

There's always wifi battles for post game :p I've managed a little over 300 hours of battling and team building
  • J-Fid - December 5, 2013 10:34 a.m.

I can't do that at my college. The school's internet is so secure, I can't stay connected for more than a minute at a time.
  • Doctalen - December 5, 2013 10:39 a.m.

    Oh yeah that's a problem :p
  • J-Fid - December 5, 2013 5:01 p.m.

For the next week and a half, yes. Yes it is.
  • Doctalen - December 5, 2013 5:10 p.m.

    Get breeding :p

Pokémon weekly, huh? So what number are we up to now? It'll be GamesRadar's 4th-iteration Pokémon show, right? XD Pokémon Monday -> PokéRadar -> Pokémon X and Y Weekly -> Pokémon Weekly (it's like an evolution chain!) Also yeah where on earth did the image at around 2:00 come from? Looks fake to me. Generation 1 and 2 will always be completely incompatible regardless of whether we ever get digital versions or not; the mechanics are just too different for a direct transfer. The furthest back you can go is the third generation. You can connect to a third gen game using the dualslot mode on a regular DS or DS Lite to get Pokémon into gen 4 using Pal Park. Then, you'll need two separate DS's to use Poké Transfer via DS download play to get fourth gen Pokémon into gen 5. In case anyone was wondering/forgot/whatever. Also, if some of the recently announced battle rules are anything to go by, it would appear that any Transferred Pokémon is banned from competition to completely oust cheating (read: the Pokémon that were generated externally or via exploits but contain seemingly 'legitimate' parameters.) Assumedly the little hexagon icon on the summary screen will not show up on a pre-gen-6 Pokémon because the game can't be entirely sure it was hacked/exploited and this is their way of ironing it out. Unfortunately I suppose this means that any unbreedable Pokémon that isn't obtainable in gen 6, like most legendaries such as the Lat twins, the kami trio, the legendary beasts, the swords of justice etc etc will all effectively be treated as 'illegitimate' until a future game makes them available again. :(

I guess Nintendo ran out of colors to use although Pokemon Abeloni or Chartuese would be interesting.
  • GOD - December 3, 2013 10:27 p.m.

Don't be silly. The next Pokemon games will be 0 and 1 with the theme being computers and code. The legendaries will be a big floating sentient ring (0 version) that is a pokemon version of the Large Hadron Electron Collider and the other (1 version) will just be a railgun with eyes.
  • Cyberninja - December 3, 2013 9:21 p.m.

Quick question where did you get the image that showed the old games at the bottom of screen from 1:55 to 2:22?
  • Doctalen - December 3, 2013 8:26 p.m.

Man I would love to battle the two of you :D I think that as a new part of the pokemon weekly y'all should battle with a commentator and then show case the battle at the end of the episode. It would certainly make for some interesting times.
