My Fav Gen was Gen 3. It was the first truly balanced separate set and poedex even after you beat the game. It had some of my older faves but in my opinion all the new ones were cool. I need to train my togekis more. I never thought of it being that powerful.

I would have to say the 2nd generation was my favorite generation for many reasons. Until HGSS it was the only game with more than 8 badges, and it added many, many features that were cut in the GBA gen and added again in the GEN 4 and 5, like a real time clock, day and night, and many other things like box MOVE. ( I think) I dislike the 3rd generation the most, but it is really close. I don't dislike it, I just like it less.

My favorite generation would have to be 3. I love the story about nature and natural disasters, and Gardevoir and Hariyama are two of my favorite Pokemon ever. My least favorite is probably 2. Even though some of the coolest Pokemon to date (Donphan, Scizor, Heracross,) came out in Gen 2, the starters are all single type (Boo) and the return of Team Rocket, the low-leveled Elite 4, and the artificial inclusion (thinking of wild pokemon levels) of Kanto makes me think of Kanto 1.5.

Gen III is definitely my favorite. It was the only gen where I loved all the starters, I liked the pokemon designs in general, and it was the first gen I played, so there might be some nostalgia in there too.

I would say my Favorite Gen was 2 added so much stuff to the game! And the remakes now are amazing! My least favorite is def gen 3 ruby and shapphire it's almost like they didn't try.
  • Deutero - November 17, 2010 6:18 a.m.

remade gen one (fire red). the nostalgia factor was enough to get me back into pokemon and the updated visuals/types/puzzles were great additions

I'm going with Gen III. For a while I thought it was II, but after reflecting back on it, holy crap. Those games are tight, well paced, have a great rival in Wally, the opposing teams are both interesting, and the mysteries of the braille and the temples hidden around that Gen Iv took and just ran with. It's great.

My favorite is gen 4 for nostalgia reasons,Gen 4 is my least favorite because I can't think of any interesting Pokemon that were in that gen
  • JayBeat - November 16, 2010 8:58 a.m.

Wooo :) My fav generation is Gen II, it was still relatively simple yet added so much. Great starters too.
  • nomnom52 - November 16, 2010 6 a.m.

I like Gen. II the most. If anything, it introduced Wobbuffet, one of my favorite pokemon. As for least favorite, I have to say Gen... Wait, I don't have a least favorite! And may I mention the fact that I'm really happy that Pokemon Monday didn't stop at 25?
  • ninjastovall0 - November 16, 2010 4:52 a.m.

all seasons have their blunders but the worst gen 2 because their were some absolutely useless pokemon introduced and on top of that not many since a lot of new ones were baby forms(suck) gen 4 seemed to do this to but at least instead of useless preevolutions they added 3rd forms to gen 1/2 pokemon(rhyperior/togekiss) but had a wee to many legendaries that while r fun to hunt, cant be used gen 3 was okay but couldve used more of its own pokemon(tropical) maybe it will with a remake. AND FINALLY GEN 1 IS CLASSIC they made the series
  • Robusken - November 16, 2010 4:42 a.m.

I guess i would say Gen 4, but Gen 1 (for nostalgic reasons) and Gen 4 ( for getting me completely back into it) are practically tied for 1st place. Gen 3 is probably my least favorite. I like almost no pokemon from that series and it just feels so ignored.
  • ihopethisisnotantistasblood - November 16, 2010 4:25 a.m.

my favorite was gen 2 (still is with hg/ss) and the least favorite is gen 3 because at first they excluded a lot of pokemon that i liked until firered came out and then you had to trade like 10000 pokemon to complete the pokedex or maybe 4 because pearl was a bit of a let down since it didn't include the battle frontier, i felt it was a step back
  • Calicard - November 16, 2010 4:20 a.m.

My favorite generation is 3: Hoenn. Ruby is my favorite version. I love the area, the story, and especially the Pokemon. Oh how I love the Pokemon of Hoenn. Ruby is (was? with B & W I'm not sure) the only version with my favorite Pokemon: Zangoose. Zangoose is obtainable in Diamond and Pearl, with Ruby in the slot, and in HG/SS, if blocks are used in the Safari Zone. What I'm getting at is that he's not a part of the main story's Pokedex in anything but Ruby. Zangoose was also the reason I made my main character of my comic series. But that's another story. I don't want to rant on, but I just love Ruby. And knowing Pokemon, there will be a Magma Ruby and Aqua Sapphire for the 3DS. I hope there is. That's all. Hoenn rules. Then again, all of Pokemon rules.
  • jpbr139 - November 16, 2010 3:31 a.m.

Gen 2 is my favorite, because there are two regions in one game, 16 gyms, it was the gen that introduced breeding, 16 gyms, met two of my favorite pokes Lugia and Wobbuffet, and almost forgot, there are 16 gyms. Worst is gen 4, sinnoh is boring, there was no diving and there are so many legendaries, and most of them (except darkrai) are really ugly
  • PorkoMan - November 16, 2010 3:25 a.m.

Love Togekiss! Hate the spotlight pokemon this week, never gonna use them when BW comes out.
  • 510BrotherPanda - November 16, 2010 2:53 a.m.

Oops... Sorry for the double post. Gen 3's my least favorite so far. I didn't really get into it when it was popular/just released, and after Gen 4 changed the overworld to pseudo-3D, Gen 3 looked like it was half-baked. I also don't really like Team Magma/Aqua. Villains that fight among themselves, in order to make a human comparison with the cover Legendaries Groudon/Kyogre's unending environmental battle? WHAT.
  • 510BrotherPanda - November 16, 2010 2:47 a.m.

Hey! I was talking to Henry about the Togekiss drawing at the movie marathon! This must have been why he brought it up... I have to say Gen 2. Having started on Pokemon with Blue in '98 when it came out, the jump to color was a big deal(Man, I sound like an old man talkin' about black-and-white TVs in the 50's and 60's...). Gen 2 also added breeding, so I could get as many Bulbasaurs as I wanted!!!
