I'm only here for the comedy (provided nearly exclusively courtesy of Matt Cundy nowadays) and the stinging truth (David Houghton, keep at it). I stopped trusting your reviews a long time ago and no longer even bother to look at them now that you have introduced the childish 'star' system; you do know that 4 stars is the same as an 8/10, yes? Who are you trying to attract/impress? Since the moving on of the likes of Carolyn Gudmundson, Charlie Barratt, Chris Antista and others I've become a lot more disinterested. I used to visit once a week on a Saturday, and it would take me about three hours to read through just the articles that interested me from the previous week. I now do it in less than 20 minutes.

Agree with everything except, Houghton is a disaster and his articles are a joke. I'll never forgive his Mass Effect 3 ending travesty.

Productivity is definitely up. Quality articles, features and interviews are popping up like crazy. Good job GR Team and Boss T.

Please GR, we want back the ridiculous random facts about games that are funny articles like GR used to do! I started reading this site back in 2008, primarily for those articles. I can see that recently they have begun to make a bit of a comeback, but they still don't quite seem the same as they used be. I appreciate the work you guys do, and value the creativity of the writing here, but I just feel the site has lost some of that originality it used to have. Although I admit the UK editors more often manage to get my attention because of their humor and creativity still. Don't play it safe guys! write some crazy stuff like "the 9 greatest Afros in gaming" or something like that! That's the kind of stuff I started coming to this site for!

What about those forums you promised to improve, but ended up just getting rid of them because "fuck the community"?
  • TheCakeIsaPie - August 3, 2012 8 p.m.

Yes, I'm sure that was personally Sophia's decision and not Future's. I can imagine it now. "If I get rid of the forums, everyone will have to listen to SoundRadar!" *evil cackle* /sarcasm
  • GR HollanderCooper - August 3, 2012 8:31 p.m.

Woah, were you there, Cake? Like... do you have super hearing?
  • TheCakeIsaPie - August 3, 2012 8:47 p.m.

    Yes to both :)
  • GR_SophiaTong - August 3, 2012 8:59 p.m.

oh noes, and I was trying to be so quiet about it too.
  • Felixthecat - August 4, 2012 7:06 a.m.

I wasn't addressing Sophia specifically, but okay.
  • GR_SophiaTong - August 3, 2012 8:57 p.m.

The forums had to be shut down for several reasons, and believe me, that was definitely not one of them. I understand why you're angry, but we value the community here and we're finding new ways to give you guys reasons to want to stay here.

Honestly, since all the lay offs earlier in the year, the loss of Talkradar, and the loss of funny articles, FAPS, and just overall site identity, I use to come to GR several times a day, now I come once a week if even. There is just nothing that makes this website stand out anymore.
  • asspills - August 3, 2012 9:57 a.m.

More like a Tong from the radar. AMIRITE?!

Congratulations Sophia! If you bring back Talkradar or equivalent, please bring back the forums. They were yanked away very unexpectedly, hopefully all that stuff is backed up...

my main gripe is that I came to this site about 3 years ago for the funny/ quirky articles, the top sevens..ect and of course talkradar and game music of the day ect the fun and quirky nature of the site stuff likes faps, and previews also whilst a trust you guys on reviews Nowadays its mainly news, most of which ive seen a while ago when its posted and some of the "fun" articles now are just trying to hard dont get me wrong i still go on this site daily but the last six or so months have been a bit of a downer
  • xdarkheartxa - August 4, 2012 10:30 p.m.

I know how you feel I've been to this site daily since it was still cheat planet and ya the last few months haven't been as entertaining

Also, im just one person, and you will most likely never read this, and i have no right to give my opinion, but i will anyway. Gr needs more unique articles like "ask gr". I know im a broken record but i thought you guys did very good in that. It makes us know you guys listen. :) Ps. I liked your "gaming's first's" article (mostly because it was my idea) and you guys stopped at "part 1"... dont leave me hangin bro! Pps. I know no one is reading this but at least i can say that i tried... Ppps. Story of my life Ok ok im leaving now
  • GR_SophiaTong - August 2, 2012 7:57 p.m.

People are reading. Do you like Ask GR because you get your questions answered? What kind of questions do you want answered?
  • forestfire55 - August 2, 2012 8:35 p.m.

No, if i wanted questions answered i would use google. I just like how gr answeres them, they say what they think, and its also information you can trust (i hope). The fact is that most of us dont like the top 100s because every single website has one. I just used ask gr as a example, its just that there needs to be something unique is all. You may need more than the top 7 (which i love). Ps. Thank you for listening also im gonna stop doing that ps thing...

I dont know about the canada part, but i somewhat agreed with everything else.
