Pelican recalls Power Bricks

PSP battery chargers found to be a fire hazard

Ordinarily, we at GamesRadar like to keep things focused on games. We think you should know, however, that on March 28, accessory maker Pelican recalled about 231,000 of its Power Brick PSP battery chargers. You know, in case you bought one and don't want to potentially burn your house down.

The recall was announced after the company received complaints that the devices can overheat and actually melt their plastic casing, posing a fire hazard. One report of actual fire damage was also filed, although no injuries have been reported.

The recall applies to all PSP Power Bricks, sold alone or in kits. For more information on the recall or to find out how to get a replacement product,

After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
