Paramount turns down Anchorman 2

Adam McKay drops Twitter bombshell...

Well this is a bit of a heartbreaker. Just when we’d got our jazz flutes at the ready in anticipation of a potential Anchorman sequel, Paramount have pulled the rug out by turning the project down.

Granted, they’d never confirmed it was definitely happening, but from the way director Adam McKay had been talking this week it was all sounding pretty positive, what with an idea in place and the original cast ready to return on a wage-cut.

Clearly though, the suits at Paramount weren’t as excited as us, with McKay revealing the bad news on his Twitter page. “So bummed,” he says. “Paramount basically passed on Anchorman 2 . Even after we cut our budget down. We tried.”
