Next-gen Kinect screen shown off by purported Durango seller

There's been a story floating around the gaming industry for the past few weeks in which a game developer is claiming to have an Xbox 720 development kit (codenamed Durango) and is attempting to sell it for $10,000. Today, the story got a little more interesting as he tweeted a screenshot of what is allegedly a next-gen Kinect in action.

We've been holding off on reporting on this story for weeks because we're just not sure what to believe. On one hand, developers known to be working with Durango have said that his pictures of the device are genuine. However, to us this does not preclude the possibility that a talented programmer/photoshoppeur who is familiar with the device could have made a mock-up to make a quick $10K.

The reason for our skepticism is the guy's twitter feed where he posts the shots: @superdae. For starters, his avatar is softcore furry porn. He also tends to tweet racist and homophobic slurs, and pictures of glasses full of absynthe. He's not exactly a portrait of credibility.

The full picture of the purported Kinect device can be found below. Let us know what you think, because we're honestly dying to know.

Does this remind anyone else of the crazy guy that had the @Qwikster Twitter name when Netflix went insane? Also, I'm not entirely convinced this isn't some PR stunt. The furry porn is there so that people don't think it's legit. THINK ABOUT IT.

The kinect sensor is built into the new console itself so the console must be infront of your tv and a distance away to register the player on camera and screen play. So in short its an Xbox 360 upgraded to the fullest for todays standards. Like how i bought a 1 year warrant on my 3DS and they just come out with a 3ds XL witch was in development since they launched the 3ds alone. I took that 1 year warranty and got a full refund <3 walmart employees <3

The resolution looks the same as the Kinect's screens to me, So I say its either a hoax or the upgraded version of Kinect needs an upgrade. Also If it were genuine and I was Microsoft I would just buy it and pay the guy extra to keep his mouth shut. If only to close any direct connections to such a negative figure, I mean if he did get it he cant of gotten it normally dont those kind of people have to sign their souls away to non nondisclosure agreements?

Also by those kind of people I mean Developers of course. Not gay bashing, drunk, racist, furrys... How is that combination even possible?
