Bethesda has slapped Fallout: New Vegas' next DLC adventure, Lonesome Road, with a September 20release date, as well as announced the arrival of two additional DLC goodie packs a week later on September 27.

Lonesome Road is the final of four planned add-ons for Fallout: New Vegas. In it, wastelanders will meet with Courier Six (aka the guy who turned down delivering the Platinum Chip, thus kicking off your role in the entire mess), who promises to reveal his secrets in exchange for doing one last job in the storm-ravaged lands of the Divide. It will be available on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points, and on PSN and Steam for US$9.99.

The two newly revealed DLC grab bags include the Courier's Stash, a collection of equipment bundles which were originally doled out as pre-order bonuses in the form of The Caravan Pack, Classic Pack, Mercenary Pack and Tribal pack; and the Gun Runners' Arsenal, a pack which purportedly “increases the range of unique weapons, weapon mods, ammo types and recipes waiting to be uncovered in the vast Mojave Wasteland.” They will be available September 27 for 160 MPs (US$1.99) and 360 MPs ($US3.99), respectively.

Check out our Fallout: New Vegas gallery for screens from Lonesome Road and what you'll be wielding with the Gun Runners' Arsenal.

The introduction of Courier Six and the promise of key plot reveals indicate this will most definitely be the last DLC for Fallout: New Vegas. Sure, closure is always nice, but are you ready to see Fallout's latest story come to an end?

Did they really think it was a good idea to release this on the same day as Gears of War 3? Regardless, I'm really looking forward to this one, considering they teased it in the main game, like they did with Dead Money and Honest Hearts. But first I need to play said DLCs, as well as Old World Blues, and I probably won't pick those up until I've done more in the main game. I'm currently on my second playthrough doing a Caesar's Legion playthrough.

This was the one I was really waiting for but unfortunately I'm kind of over New Vegas. My top level character has pretty much done it all but the final missions in anticipation of doing this DLC first but I think my enthusiasm is too far gone and I'll probably never finish it. Kudos to Bethesda for keeping the DLC coming a full year after it was released though for the ones who are still playing. I just can't see myself getting involved what with so many good games around the corner.

Yeah, release it during the busiest time of the year.

@Redeater I'm backlogged on games I want to play (trying to finish up Borderlands), so you're right in just waiting for a Steam Sale for New Vegas GOTY edition

I wonder if LR is going to surpass OWB. All the other packs have been speaking of LR, hyping it, so here's hoping it's good.

(Just from the New Vegas Wikipedia page) "According to sources at Bethesda, two more DLC packs are in production (other than Dead Money, "Honest Hearts" and "Old World Blues"), with further DLCs in consideration; at least five but possible up to eight DLCs are planned for New Vegas." I don't know whether those 'two' are the two weapon packs or not but either way, I still only count 7 including Lonesome Road. Didn't Fallout 3 have 5 DLC add-ons too? I'm looking forward to this, and I definitely wish I'd played New Vegas BEFORE downloading Dead Money the other day- hadn't played it in months, thought the only way to fix the ED-E glitch was with Dead Money, didn't know they'd released a patch. Stupid me. Oh well, it's not as bad as I expected it to be, but there are still some minor bugs :/ Hopefully, Lonesome Rod (and the rest of the DLCs) are slightly better.

Well, it'll certainly be nice to see the Courier's story finally come to an end. New Vegas was certainly fun and it's admittedly a little sad to see it finally reach the end of the (lonesome) road, but hey - when support for New Vegas finally goes, there's always Fallout 4 to look forward to (and we all know it's gonna come eventually). Also, that Gun Runner's Arsenal, while it sounds to me like that "Spell Tomes" add-on from Oblivion, will be interesting to see. I wonder we'll get from that?

Awesomeness even though this was due out during August but hey atleast its coming out, and the weapon pack seems interesting, watch out Mojave Wasteland here I come one more time! And hello the Divide!
  • Pocotron - August 25, 2011 3:09 p.m.

This Fallout weapons pack has an ominous "Horse Armor" feel to it. Actually, it sounds interesting for a new playthrough.

Istill need the money(and the will) to play the other 2 DLC before that one. Maybe I will just wait until the 27th so I can add 10 other weapons to my arsenal.

Just to clarify, Courier six is the player character. The person that you labeled in the article is actually Ulysses. The more you know!
  • Redeater - August 25, 2011 1:55 p.m.

While I'm sure this is alright, experience has taught me just to wait for the GOTY edition.
  • BackwaterRifle - August 25, 2011 4:13 p.m.

They are working on something, which is to be the assumed GOTY edition, so not much longer! But when it does come out you have to play this game, it is incredible.
  • Defguru7777 - August 25, 2011 9:34 p.m.

The game's so damn cheap at this point, you really don't need to wait for the GOTY edition even.
