Molyneux wants to make one last game

Peter Molyneux thinks his next big game will also be his last. The 53-year-old designer of Fable and Black & White spoke with Beefjack about what he wants to put into his next project (hint: everything he's got), as well as Curiosity and 22Cans' next experiment.

“I’m only going to make one more game, I think,” Molyneux said. “And that thought--the thought of every ounce of my energy, every ounce of my experience, every mistake that I’ve made in every single game--if I can learn from that, and use that energy to make one game… that’s what I’m trying to do.”

He said he and his staff have several features in mind for his magnum opus, but it is far from solid right now. "We’re going to make a game, we’re going to learn what it is to make a game in today’s world, and it’s going to be the defining game of my career.”

Of course, if Molyneux can't resist trying some new ideas after this project sees the light of day, it certainly wouldn't be the first time he bounced a metaphorical check.

Until then, 22Cans is eagerly watching player interaction with Curiosity, and plans to reveal its next experiment called Co-Operation very soon. Soon as in it will "kind of" go live on Friday, Molyneux said.

We never want for surprises with Peter.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
