Unless...... Would it be possible for another company to acquire the rights to such a character and/or series? Probably not, but, I've had a gut feeling since the game was announced that Megaman could turn up in the next Smash Bros. game. I'm completely aware that the game is still in the conceptual stages if that but he seems like a prime candidate for it.

I can agree with this, same reason Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix will be held as gods while Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are basically now playing in a shitty Rolling Stones cover band. Well...I guess Mega Man didn't OD, but maybe he should have.

My only problem with the article is that Mega Man hasn't been as whored-out as Sonic, yet. Other than that, I think the "die and go platinum/Michael Jackson" clause applies to MML3.

Why do we make videogames? For fun? Or for profit? We're Capcom, and it's all about the moolah! Too bad that Mega Man 10 got bad sales. Mega Man games are fun, and the series hasn't had nearly the amount of ridicule Sonic games has (Seriously, I don't get why people still crave Sonic today). I had never heard of Mega Man Legends 3 happy sunshine time or whatever it's called. Don't worry, Mega Man will come back one day, if he's dead.

It's like you're just trying to start a shitstorm Jim. I was reading along and somewhat agreeing with you until the last part.
