LEGO Lord of the Rings first trailer released

This fall, LEGO is digging its detachable, plastic hands into another blockbuster movie franchise, The Lord of the Rings. The title was announced earlier last month, but Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has now released a trailer showing their interpretation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic journey to destroy the one ring. Surprisingly, LEGO Lord of the Rings’ characters are fully voiced – a departure from the quirky miming of the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman and Harry Potter series.

From the looks of things, players will be taking control of characters like Gandolf, Frodo, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Merry and Pipin as the explore the locations and encounter enemies from the books and movies.

Can you get earlier in the month than the first?

At this point, maybe TT should just plain out recreate movies in Legos. I'd buy them weither they were tongue in cheek or not.

Why are they speaking? They're not supposed to speak, not in Lego games, that's just wrong. YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK!!!

That's a good point, and I agree wholeheartedly. LEGO games aren't SUPPOSED to have voices, that's why they're so great. I have a question, though; Does 'fully voiced' mean The entire cast are now doing new voices, soundalikes are providing the voices, or are they just nicking audio from the movies? because that's not very impressive at all :/

Looks they are using at least some audio directly from the movies(why re-record you shall not pass and the like) but hopefully they tack on some new stuff from at least a few characters so that they don't have to follow the movies exactly

    That was really awkward.

It's not that weird that they have voices. There are voices in Lego Batman 2. I'm ok with them in Lego Batman 2 because it's a new story but everyone knows LOTR why do they have voices?
  • EwoksTasteLikeChicken - June 1, 2012 5:27 p.m.

I don't care they have voices, I haven't been this excited for a Lego game since Star Wars The Original Trilogy.

One does not simply block into Mordor.
  • Tyrande - June 1, 2012 7:57 p.m.

One does not simply misspell Gandalf
