Hitman HD Collection outed by Italian retailer

Replay Agent 47's early adventures

Ever since the marketing for Hitman: Absolution kicked in, we've found ourselves craving a return to Agent 47's older adventures from yesteryear. Well, today our silent prayers were answered as an Italian retailer, 16games, (spotted and translated by Eurogamer) has put up a listing for a Hitman HD Collection.

The collection doesn't yet have a release date, but it's running for 30 Euros, or about $37. The listing reveals the cover art and shows that the collection will include Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money. So sadly the first game wont be available.

Though it hasn't yet been officially announced, it's very rare for a listing like this to pop up and be false. Hopefully we'll be seeing this collection release this fall during the ramp up to the November 20 release date of Hitman: Absolution.

I bought the collection the other day for $6.40 on PS2.

I think I just found 47's newest target lol. He better find a way to get some of those nuns on his side or it's lights out.

Sad that there's no Codename 47. At least they will put these games out alongside that shitpile Absolution.

You're really good at accusing games of being bad before they're even released, aren't you?

Yeah I'm also really good at being able to tell when they're ruining good series because I played Splinter Cell Conviction and that game was absolute shit and the fact they're doing an almost carbon copy is pretty much a done deal for the game being terrible

You are what I hate about the gaming community. Presumptuous, ignorant, and entitled. You have no idea how this game will turn out to be. I'm not a fan of this series, but a good game is a good game. You should learn to hold your tounge until you, yourself, plays the finished product. You have the right to assume it's going to be bad, but until you play the game your opinion means nothing.

Entitled to what? A good game? I am a fan of this series and watching it turn into streamlined linear casual bullshit is what makes me cry. The theory that "How do you know it's shit if it isn't out yet" is complete idiocy because that implies there is no such thing as premonition.

How the hell is Hitman even close to being linear, casual, or bullshit? You do realise that you can turn off the "Splinter Cell" abilities, right?

Hitman isn't, but Absolution is. And it shouldn't even be an option. The Chinatown video looks way better then anything they've shown, but it confuses me why they would show a bunch of videos of 47 shooting people (in a "stealth" game) and the atrocious Nun trailer and then a normal Hitman gameplay video.

Don't suppose they'd bring it over to the xbox?
  • GeedAwesome - June 1, 2012 3:39 p.m.

Aren't all three on Steam already as a collection for $25?
  • Crypto140 - June 2, 2012 7:18 a.m.

Your right, however it involves Hitman: Codename 47 Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Blood Money. Would it be better to get the Steam games, or get the collection for consoles?

The first game is avilable on GOG for 6$, and will run smoothly on your PC in every resolution yopu can imagine. Controls are Scheiße, though.

I guess they do not have non disclosure agreements in italy
