Perfect Dark Gaia from Sonic Unleashed.

I would suggest The Answerer from Armored Core For Answer, Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi from Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma, Rhodes Colossus from God of War 2 as at least honorable mentions for this list :)

Cyberdemon from Doom. Aside from being the largest boss in the game, it also shoots rockets from its fists, and when you finally kill it, it explodes into a pile of pixelated gore. Definitlely one of the more memorable parts of the game.

I've got to give a shout-out to Jhen Mohran from Monster Hunter 3. Easily the most involved fight from that game, you have to run along its back to wound its weak points, use cannons and spear guns to stun it, then run into its mouth to hit additional weak points. It is definitely my favorite of all the monsters featured in the game.

    Castlevania LOS - Bone Dragon

Nobody remembers devil may cry 4 whatever play through it again and think about the boss I'm talking about it's pretty easy to guess
  • Unoriginal - January 27, 2013 5:54 a.m.

Wierd how you didn't even pick the largest bosses from Bayonetta and Asuras Wrath. Jubileus is bigger than Iustitia and don't even get me started on the size difference beetween Wyzen and Chakravartin. Chakravartin hurls planets at you with his little finger.
  • jye-cannon - January 28, 2013 12:56 a.m.

Exactly what I was thinking! Jubileus is massive compared to Iustitia. :P
  • hu-deegan - October 9, 2014 4:40 p.m.

What about Queen Sheba? Not a boss, but still way bigger than Jubileus!
  • SanosukeEiji - January 26, 2013 8:59 p.m.

The last akrid boss in LP2 is huge. It takes you about 3-4 different levels(where you fight its arms) just to get to the main part of the boss.

This topic is neat. There are a ton to choose from. Kingdom Hearts actually had several bosses that were gargantuan (Cerberus, Ursala, the Ice Titan, even the final boss), but Chernabog would have been my pick from that game. I forget the exact scale they used in the game, but he transformed from an entire mountain in Fantasia. Megaleg from Super Mario Galaxy was pretty huge. Mario was like a flea crawling around him. The Boomsday Machine from Galaxy 2 - that multi-story tank that Bowser Jr. drives around - would have been a good one too. Sin from Final Fantasy X is bigger than most of the ones on this list.
  • jackthemenace - January 27, 2013 3 a.m.

Greed. With the final boss fight's Boat Form or whatever it was, Darkside seems like a pretty feeble choice; as does Lustitia for Bayonetta, when the final boss fight against Jubileus was infinitely more grandiose, probably being somewhere closer to the size of the Storm King.

Good to see SOTC, Metal Gear, God of War and Killzone on there. All epic bosses. Though I have to say, no Reapers? I know you don't take on any of the 2 kilometer ones on directly, but surely the 3 destroyers (around 160 meters tall, if memory serves) you face throughout ME3 count.
  • sephex - January 26, 2013 10:04 a.m.

I think the final boss from SOTC (Malus) is bigger than the one in this list, at least in height.
  • NanoElite666 - January 26, 2013 10:01 a.m.

The various Arms Forts from Armored Core 4 Answer. While the various ones vary in size, they all make your own multi-story-tall AC look quite small in comparison.
  • Evanesco - January 26, 2013 9:16 a.m.

90% of Shadow of the Colossus should have been on this list. That game was made for the specific purpose of you fighting massive things.
  • SixSpeedSamurai - January 26, 2013 6:12 a.m.

What about the Titans in Castlevania LOS?
  • Baz - January 26, 2013 5:54 a.m.

i think there should have been at least one enemy from gears on this list. there are at least 3 boss fights of a sort with giants to fight. obviously the rift worm which sinks cities, the lambent brumak which is supposedly twice the size of a normal brumak so around 98 feet tall (according to gearspedia). also the lambent leviathon which ate most of a warship. and thats a list completed without any of the giant enemies thrown at you on a regular basis in the games
  • TBone4Ever - January 26, 2013 8:05 a.m.

The Brumak on Horde is what I was thinking massive sum bitch that you have to watch her guns and rockets and not get flattened by her especially if she pins you in an area you can't get out..
  • ITYFIGHTERI - January 26, 2013 4:50 a.m.

I'm upset that no one has mentioned Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2. Huge boss fight for its time.
