I totally look at concept art and the like. I worked to unlock it and I enjoy seeing the game in it's early development stages. Not all of it is available on the web, and some of it's buried under a host of useless garbage

I hate concept art. I have the internet for that. I want something for the gameplay when i complete something. Not shit I can look up on google images.

What's so lame about concept art? I (and most other gamers) certainly do enjoy them.

Not written by a snowboarder i guess. An ice-board could still steer, since ou "cut" through the snow when you steer, not glide over the surface. It would probably break though with the forces. And how you would sharpen the edges is beyond me. Nice list though!

I do enjoy the concept art, thus I dont' believe that is lame at all.

As much as I love Beyond Good and Evil, the unlockables were terrible. A pearl minigame (where each of the two pearls is controlled by each analog stick, AND, one of those has inverted controls? THAT'S what I get for finding all the pearls? Why not a new difficulty mode? Or a new area to explore? Just something tangible that makes it worth the extra effort I'm putting into it. Not to mention that if you take photos of all the animals (an incredibly difficult and time consuming endeavor) all you get is a collection of your photos. I wish I was making that up. The fact that BGaE is one of my favorite classics only makes this even more irritating.

Did Photoshop even exist when Resident Evil 2 released?

Of course they did! It was called MS Paint! lol

As an artist I enjoy looking at the concept art. It's inspirational to my drawings and sketches. I love em, however google kinda does this for you...

Agreed. Love it when games come with these types of unlockables, like those found in MK games. Also typically [concept] art books are the only reason why I pick up collector's editions.

Nintendo has always had the worst unlockables. Collecting all the "skulltulas" in Ocarina of Time was easily one of the most disappointing things ever for me. You guys missed the NSMB2 for 3DS though. Didn't you have to collect literally like 2 million coins or something and all you got was a different start screen?

Even that's better than Super Mario 3D land, where getting all the star coins in both the regular and special worlds just increases you star rating on your save file. Get the top of the flag pole for every level, with both Mario and Luigi and to then get your file rating to 5 stars. Don't you feel motivated now? Also I too, like the concept art.

Getting every star coin in both the special worlds and the regular unlocked a new level...

I think the most lame unlockable was the blooper reel from DK 64. It was very random.

Add me to the list of people who actually like concept art. Additionally, this pretty much sums up my thoughts when I got that compliment card in Wind Waker:

    Your alright in my book.

For defeating Nightmare mode in Darksiders II, I got an avatar. And the best bit was that I wasn't aware that Nightmare mode was still active after the story was finished, and so I ended up dying post end-game, and in a fit of frustration deleted the save file and didn't even know about the avatar until I scoured the Internet for what the rewards actually were.

i like concept art but if you unlock a trophy or a statue or at least a clothing for your character it would be sweet like the action figures in resdint evil 5
  • g1rldraco7 - November 21, 2013 4:25 p.m.

Concept is awesome although I understand why it's not that impressive. Hey I remember Henry talking about the million coin ripoff on Mario 3D for the DS, may have butchered the title of the game which is just a different title screen.
  • taokaka - November 21, 2013 3:57 p.m.

Some people will disagree with me but I hate it when after defeating the most powerful opponent in a game you unlock the most powerful weapon, what good is that going to do now?
