Here's to more fine products from the Towelly Joke Factory. "It's on fire!" My choice of soundtrack would probably be Daft Punk's "Discovery" or perhaps Air's "Moon Safari". Both very easy listening and fantastic background music - enjoyable yet not distracting. Although in all honesty if I'm listening to something while gaming then 95% of the time it's a podcast, so GRUK, PSM3, OPM UK, KBMOD, Giant Bombcast, Weekend Confirmed, TalkRadar and sometimes others too...

Absolutely loved this weeks Podcast, even without Nathan or Houghters :D Some of the finest Cundy=ing I've ever heard, and Towell even managed to ROLL with it for some of it, and not reign it in like Nathan would :P In terms of Music, I'd say either 'Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man' by powerglove, because it's all just metal covers of already existing game music, or the song 'Ejaculate While KIlling' by Flayed Disciple. Because 'Ejaculate While Killing'. I mean, it could replace Guiles theme for sheer 'Going with everything'-ness.

I would choose the 'Smirk' EP by Future-ite Andy Kelly's internet alias Ultrabrilliant, because it is suitable electronic and 'gamey'. It also has a nice variety of moods and styles, for example a more ambient track like 'Industry' could be used for more calm game moments, whereas more punchy, energetic tracks like 'Motivation' could work well with action games.

I always find that putting other game music into different games is quite good. For example, music from the first few Sonic games whilst i play Trials. I guess that option wouldn't exist in this crazy reality though, so i'd go for R.E.M's Automatic for the People. Used to listen to that whilst playing games with my friend and his brother back in the day so would be a constant nostalgia trip! Also, brilliant show this week guys!! I even laughed at one of Towell's jokes! Keep it up ;-) XxXx

Great podcast, loving the Joke Factory even though I didn't get the dinosaur one. As far as this weeks (episodes) question goes, it reminded me of doing that very thing back in the spectrum days (although it was cassettes then, Grandad) and the one that really sticks in my head is listening to Queens 'Another One Bites The Dust' for the first time while playing Marauder. So for old times sake I would have to say a Queen album.

Podcast is great. If I could choose the music to a game, I would pick a DJ or party mix of some kind because if its a fast paced game it would fit and if it wasn't it would help me through the slow parts.

If I had to provide the soundtrack to my games, I'd listen to Girl Talk albums because I always feel happy and energetic listening to to the roughly hour-long mash-ups that those albums are.

I figure the dinosaur and bee joke has something to do with Hudson and Adventure Island, or Bonk. The lizard game name game would be like Katamari, rolling up geckos, then salamanders, chameleons, Gila monsters, Kimodo dragons, until you get to dinosaurs, and the whole lizardy world.

The Dinosaur joke is Pokemon related; as you can stop your Pokemon from evolving by pressing the B button during the evolution animation... The Bee/B was also a play on words linking to the Butterfly effect as they're both insects; I think that's what he meant anyway. I've just ruined the joke by attempting to explain it, haven't I? Also for the album question I'll probably have to say Oribital's 'Orbital 2' just so I can listen to Halcyon + On + On constantly (although I already do that anyway).

Good work lads, joke factory pumping out only high quality jokes. Can't really think of an album I'd want to listen to while playing games all the time, which is a good job really as I don't particularly want Kingdom Under Fire! Sorry Cundy!

5 minutes in, already laughing. Will update after I've listened to the whole thing (while thinking of an album at the same time...) Excited for the Joke Factory! It's on fire!

Really good one lads! Joke Factory is a fantastic addition but I'll certainly miss Gaming Monkey's unintelligible noises
  • GhostNappa2k10 - February 22, 2012 9:08 a.m.

This podcast (in my opinion) was the funniest yet :') bravo!
  • Mooshon - February 22, 2012 8:28 a.m.

Well handled guys, nice one. If game music didn't exist everyone should try Extreme's Pornograffitti album as the soundtrack just the once. A top quality, camp and loud grin-fest of an album which would perfectly accompany any gaming session. Jumps around from loud to calm and ultra fast 90's electric to soft acoustic guitar. Shooting people in the face? "Decadence Dance". Lovey bit? Boom! "More Than Words". Covers all your gaming needs.

The Towell Joke Factory is back! Oh, and don't worry Justin I think we all got the Dinosaur joke; it got a laugh (and then a groan) from me anyway.
  • ithurtstopoop - February 22, 2012 8:26 a.m.
