Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that sales of PS3 in Europe have topped the 600,000 unit figure, meaning a hefty portion of the million units for the European launch has already been snapped up.
In the UK, the console shifted 165,000 units in its first two days of sale, moving Sony's Phil Harrison to hail the launch of PS3 in the UK as the biggest product launch ever.
"We are already seeing across Europe out of stock situations where retailers re re-ordering. It was always our strategy to have a good supply. There's never been a launch of a console in Europe that's had a million pieces of hardware sold in or available," Harrison said in a Game Theory Podcast.
