EA didn't falsely advertise Mass Effect 3 rules advertising group

The United Kingdom's Advertising Standards Authorityruled todaythat they did not find Electronics Arts to be at fault in their advertising for Mass Effect 3.

After the release of the game, you may remember that there was quite a furor that erupted among the Mass Effect series' most loyal fans, who alleged that EA engaged in false advertising when they said players would be able to affect the ending of the game with their choices.

According to the fans, the actual effect players had on the story did not live up to what EA/Bioware had promised.

However, the ASA disagrees, saying that the different endings were "thematically quite different" and that the three choices at the end of the game (plus the galactic readiness rating) were enough to justify EA's claims.
