Dragon Ball Z coming to Kinect

After years of searching for the perfect franchise to fit the Kinect, it seems like we might have finally found it with a new game announcement from Namco. The next Dragon Ball Z game is Kinect bound and is planned for the end of the year. That's right, you''ll soon be Spirit Bombing and Kamehamehaing in you own home.

Above: There's no footage for it yet, so this should suffice for now

Namco Bandai has said it will feature more than 50 characters, 100 moves, and 30 minutes of new anime footage. Also there's promise of new content unlockable via QR codes, though no info revealed on just how you attain those codes. We'll share more as we know it, but we're most curious if there will be a versus mode to see who can stand still and scream the longest. Though if that's in there, it could cause a wave of vocal chord injuries that will be all over Fox News.

DBZ fans, what moves do you hope to imitate in this game? Spirit Bomb? Galick Gun? Destructo Disks? In the meantime, here's something to help you master accurate DBZ screaming:

This is the only thing for Kinect I've ever heard of that actually makes any sense. Heck, I've never watched ANY of the anime, but I'd buy this, and I know a fair few people who'll probably BUY Kinect exclusively for a DBZ game

This seems great in concept, but DBZ games aren't just about launching special attacks. Despite a new fighter every year, I still can't find a DBZ game better than DBZ Budokai(?) Tenkaichi 3.

The Kamehameha and the Spirit Bomb are both good moves, but I won't be satisfied with a DBZ Kinect game unless it lets me do other special moves (Death Beam, Special Beam Cannon, Destructo Disk, etc.).

Hmm.. "Achievement unlocked: Yell "it's over 9000" when a character is charging up..."

that depends just HOW namco is gonna prepare the DBZ game. As J-fid said, as far as DBZ games go, Budakai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 are by far the best, the newer ones have better graphics, and better fighting mechanics, but they all apparently suck and get low scored for not doing it right. If Namco's going to a different direction with this then things can get interesting.

Unless you can increase the strength of the KamaHameHa by screaming the words louder and slower I'm not interested. Actually, forget everything I just said between the words "Unless" and "slower". I'm 30 dammit!

It might be the only Kinect game I will buy. Oh my poor dusty Kinect. Anyway, all that time playing DBZ on the playground will finally pay off!
