Download of the Week: They said it couldn't be done but Crysis is finally running on consoles

Platform: PS3/360 | Publisher: EA | Developer: Crytek | Price: £19.99/$20

All our downloads are piped in with the lightning-quick Virgin Media 50Mb Broadband...

They said it couldn't be done - albeit bloody years ago when it first came out on PC - but the original Crysis is finally available to play on consoles. And in downloadable form of all things.

The gorgeous FPS used to make even the most powerful of PC's sweat, but thanks to a reworking under the CryEngine 3, Crytek have managed the seemingly impossible. And for a bargain price you're getting a stellar shooter that still holds up today.

Here, check this video out and then get downloading. You won't regret it.

Want more DLC? Check these out...

I recently beat crysis 2 the other day. The game was better than average. That's hardly a compliment though. The original crysis looks so much better.

IMO, NBA Jam On Fire Edition is the Download of the Week.

I downloaded it last night. Plays great. I've had the game on PC for years. Until I get a PC that can run it full specs, this will have to do.

I went to xbox.com and bought Crysis for £14.99, which is fair. The 2gb limit is for arcade games, this is being sold as a fully fledged Xbox game. Be wary though if you are low on space, it's a 4.9GB download. Thoroughly enjoying it though, the controls feel better to me than they did on the PC original.

Doesn't XBL have a 2GB limit for DLable games?

As above, if Crysis was coming out on disc then I'd probably buy it, but as it's a download I'm unlikely to. Also, why do we in the UK pay £19.99, which is basically $30, while Americans pay $20? We're constantly price-gouged here and it's really unfair.
