I can't say I miss standard definition, but I also don't care for the 1080p/4k, 60fps high definition either. I care more about the gameplay being solid. I have a 720 hdtv which plays my games, old and new, great. As long as the game's graphics aren't completely broken and ugly it works for me.

I pretty much feel the same way. This is why I went and got a Sony Trinitron off someone on craigslist. I had to hook my SNES and PS2 up to something that didn't make them look like crap. The picture is always gonna look more vibrant, colorful, and crisp on a CRT. The technology just isn't efficient enough.

I only switched to HD last year because I had to get a new tv for college and I have to say HD isn't all that awesome when you get down to it especially since it seems to have done more harm then good so far. Also you can use a Wiiu on composite cables in SD unless you are talking about what came with it.

Aye, I meant what it came with, actually amended it while you were reading by the looks of things!

Somewhere out there, Arin Hanson is nodding his head in agreement

To be fair, he's probably also saying things that are factually incorrect and ignoring basic on screen instructions.
