Defend (Def) : Determines a character's ability to evade incoming attacks, Speed (Spd) : Determines movement order during battle, as well as a character's ability to flee and chase fleeing enemies. Luck (Lck) : Determines chances of ambushing or being ambushed at the start of battle. Also affects a unit's critical hit rate. Positive Status Effects ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Empowered : Raises character's damage rating (attack strength). Fortified : Raises character's armor rating (damage resistance). Focused : Raises character's Attack (accuracy) rating. Hyper : Raises character's Speed and Defense (evasion) rating. Lucky : Raises character's Luck rating. Vulnerable : Affected character takes more damage from attacks. Stunned : Affected character cannot take action until the next round. Distracted : Lowers a character's attack accuracy (Atk) rating. Sluggish : Lowers a character's evasion (Def) rating. Cursed : Lowers a character's luck (Lck) rating. Negative statuses can be removed by using the following items. Poisoned : Cured by Antidote. Weakened : Cured by Antidote or Rock Salt. Vulnerable : Cured by Antidote or Iron Tonic. Stunned : Cured by Antidote Distracted : Cured by Antidote or Prune Juice. Sluggish : Cured by Antidote or Psychic Water Cursed : Cured by Antidote or Clover Juice. Game Over ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Should you lose in battle, you will be given a chance to retry in exchange for a specific amount of rings. So be sure to set some rings aside for those particularly difficult boss fights later on in the game. POW Moves ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ POW moves are special attacks that are carried out by successfully inputting the commands displayed onscreen. If done correctly, the move does maximum damage, otherwise the move will miss completely, wasting your turn. Some POW moves involve more than one character to perform, wherein all participating characters must have the designated amount of PP. Team POW moves often involve more complex command inputs, but does much more damage compared to solo POW Moves. ============================================================================ II. WALKTHROUGH [02] ============================================================================ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Chapter 01: Hostile Reception [02a] -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Green Hill Zone [02a-1] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you regain control after some brief tutorials, tap the arrow icon at the bottom left corner of the touch screen. Explore the options in there and read through the documentations to familiarize yourself with the rules of this game. When you've seen enough, collect all the rings you can get. Take EGG #1 near the loop. These eggs will hatch into Chaos, which in turn grant special abilities and enhancements to the character they are bonded to. Next, open the treasure northwest from the man for a HEALTH SEED. Side Mission: The Tired Old Woodsman ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Talk to the old man and agree to help him. Approach the pile of wood nearby then tap the action button to start chopping. Go back to the old man when you're done. You will be rewarded with a POW CANDY and 50 XP. ____________________________________ Continue to the dock, step on the switch to retrieve the raft, and ride it across the lake. You will then engage in your very first battle -- against an Enraged Armadillo. There will be a brief battle tutorial before the fight, so don't worry. Defeat that enemy to proceed. Head south to trigger a short story event. Amy joins the party afterwards. When you regain control, turn back a bit to grab the rings and EGG #2. Move along south until you encounter a sentry drone. Catch it and destroy it. Onwards to a chest with PRUNE JUICE / HEALTH SEED. When you reach a fork, go east and explore a bit just to open up the map. You will see another man there, but you won't be able to accomplish his request right now since you must have 4 characters for that. Anyway, hop up the steps to the top of the elevated platform in the middle for a chest with HEALTH SEED / POW CANDY. Next, climb the southwest platform. Dash along the slide to reach EGG #3 at the upper platform. Go around the top then down to the right side to reach the southmost elevated area. Climb up there and step on the spring to get to the top. Open the treasure chest for a BOXING GLOVES. Put that on now. Jump back down and make your way to the bridge south of the area (marked with a star). Save your game. Collect the nearby treasure containing HEALTH SEED / POW CANDY and approach the bridge for a boss fight. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Boss: Marauder Scout -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This battle shouldn't be that much of problem if your characters are at level 2 or 3. You're most probably not used to doing Power Moves yet, so just stick to using regular attacks. Or you can also practice on how to do the Power Moves properly if you like, but I don't advise this. Use those Heath Seeds to heal if you're low on HP. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= After the battle, cross the bridge towards Central City. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Central City [02a-2] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Start off by picking up all the rings you can find -- you should have 24 of them once you finish your hunt. Head to the northeast corner of the area, some ways to the right of Tails' Workshop. EGG #1 is hidden somewhere there next to a fire hydrant. Enter the structure marked with a star on the map. Talk to Tails inside. Go on and prolong the conversation by avoiding the main topic. It's always good to learn about other things. Save your game and leave the building when you're done chatting. Defeat 2 Sentry Drones and 1 Swat Bot. Go back inside the workshop to recover and save again. Remember the cat (Rogue) who refuses to let you through earlier? Well, go talk to her now. She will then lead you to the GUN HQ. Chapter complete. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Chapter 02: The Search for Knuckles [02b] -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Central City [02b-1] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Some ways to the right of the GUN HQ is a guy, who is standing next to a fire hydrant. Talk to him for a puzzle. You can also ask for hints but the man will ask for 30 rings in exchange -- don't bother listening to what he has to say, as you can easily solve this puzzle on your own. The Pipe Puzzle ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Start by having two characters step on the two red buttons, which will turn green. Switch to a third character, climb the white planks, and examine the red thingie there. This should turn the crane towards the pipe outside. Now run back down and head over to that said pipe. Hook it to the crane and go operate the red thingie on the upper level again, to move the pipe to its proper position. Get a POW CANDY and 150 XP for solving the puzzle. _______________ Switch control over to Sonic and dash into the newly fixed pipes, and down the ramp. You'll eventually end up on the rooftops. You can have Tails fly across the gaps on either side, but fly left first. Collect all the rings you can find, as well as EGG #2 for this stage. You will also find a treasure chest which lets you take either a REFRESHER or a HEALTH SEED. Hop back down to the ground and make your way back to the pipes. Dash through it one more time with Sonic, and this time have Tails fly across the right gap on the rooftops. Again, collect all the rings as well as EGG #3. Make your way back to the ground after that. There is a GUN soldier near the GUN HQ entrance. Talk to him and agree to help. Note that you are only looking for one target. Side Mission: Mechanical Muggers ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Search for a downward ramp (with directional arrows on it) near the center of the city. Dash down and you should emerge atop a building at the bottom left corner of the city. Head north around the back of a house. The robot will spot you. Defeat 2 SWAT Bots and 2 Sentry Drones. The GUN Soldier will reward you with a HEALTH LEAF and 75 XP. ________________________________ Proceed further into the alley to find EGG #4. There is also a treasure chest back on top of the building. That one lets you pick between a HEALTH SEED / POW CANDY / CLOVER JUICE. Make your way back to the center of the city. Now you should see a bag icon on the map. Go there to find a shop, where you can exchange your rings for items and equipments. Head northeast from the shop, and talk to the man next to a car. He will ask you to look for the Queen Wasp. Agree to help as always. Side Mission: Queen of the Swarm ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Go to where the pipes are and dash through it. At the rooftops, fly west and navigate towards the roof of the shop. The queen you're looking for should be waiting there. Go back to the petitioner for an ANTIDOTE & 50 XP. ________________________________ Back to the main quest. Notice that there are 2 stars left on the map. That is where you need to go. Head for the east one first and down the man hole. Move forward a bit and 2 SWAT Bots will attack you. Defeat them to get first of four communicators. Open the chest for 2 HEALTH SEEDS / POW CANDY. For the second base, dash through the pipes again to reach the rooftops. Fly west. Make your way to the roof of the shop then hop onto the house with a long brown roof. From there, just go through several doors until you spot a spring to the left. Hop off there and proceed to the hideout. Once again, go forward, kill 2 SWAT Bots for the second communicator. The chest contains the same items as the one in the first base did. Go back out to the city and take the exit just beyond the pipes to Green Hill Zone. You may want to visit Tails' Workshop to recover and save first. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Green Hill Zone [02b-2] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You should spot the next star on the map right away, but before that there are other things for you to do here. First, head west along the bottom strip of land to find EGG #4 for this stage. After that, go right around to the top. Talk to the man there, and you should be able to clear his puzzle now. The Bridge Puzzle ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Have Sonic and Amy step on the first two switches to lower parts of the bridge. Then fly across the gap with Tails and Rouge. Have them step on the remaining buttons to complete the bridge. _________________ Fly up the "starred island" and enter the next base. You should know the drill now. Collect the third communicator and your item of choice from the treasure chest. Climb the staircase then take EGG #5. Go back outside. The last hideout is located on a small island southeast of the area. So go there then fly towards the right island. Take EGG #6 and fly north. Enter the base and beat the 2 SWAT Bots for the final communicator. Take your desired loot from the chest. Your next destination is the Mystic Ruins, but you need to find a way to get there first. Make your way back to Central City then go south towards the star on the map. The GUN Soldier still refuses to let you pass, so stop by Tails' Workshop. Talk to everyone then leave. Check the Tornado to proceed. At the world map, fly south towards the ruins. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mystic Ruins [02b-3] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Start off by collecting all the rings you can find, until the party gets blocked by a cloud of gas. Big the Cat joins your group after a bit of dialogue. Pick your desired party; Sonic and Big are mandatory, so you can take two more characters of your choice. Now, switch control over to Big and ram through the gas cloud northwest. Enter the room at the end. The left chest has SPEEDY SNEAKERS / ECONOMIZER / LUCKY GLOVES, while the right one has HEALTH LEAF / POW GUM / ANTIDOTE. Take EGG #1 for this stage. Go back outside and plow through the southeast gas cloud. At the other side, hop northeast to higher ground for EGG #2. Turn around down the steps and talk to the GUN Soldier for a puzzle. The Air Vents Puzzle ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Start by having two characters step on the lower-left and upper-right buttons. Next, switch to a third character and have him take the power cell from the exposed tube. Now, step on the upper-left and lower-right buttons to release the other tube. Send whoever has the power cell to examine the open tube and put his load there. Release the buttons to send the tube back down. That solves this puzzle. ______________________ Go around the path northeast and plow through the gas cloud. Defeat the Colossal Worm at the end of the path; fly west onto the small island then up onto a broken steel beam for EGG #3. Turn back through the gas, flying east to another island then north to the next one to find EGG #4. Next, proceed to the lower portion of the area, and plow through the gas sotheast then dash up the ramp. Hop off at the other side for EGG #5. Now, head to the center of the upper area. Force your way through the gas cloud. Fly to the higher platform then hop up the next one to find EGG #6. Return to where the the fans are. Step on the large block in the middle and fly to the upper level. Collect the rings along with EGG #7. Go inside the structure afterwards. Make your way down until you reach the floor populated by some Marauder Scouts. The rooms at the center and to the left all have eggs inside, but you need Knuckles for that, so come back later. Enter the right door. Knuckles will be in here. Take note of another egg to be retrieved later. The chapter ends after a bit of dialogue. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Chapter 03: Egghunt [02c] -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Central City [02c-1] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You'll be back in Tails' Workshop. Talk to everybody, particularly to Big and ask about his frog friends. This unlocks the mission Leave the stronghold making sure to include Knuckles in your party. You'll receive the Eggman Detector as well. With Knuckles, you can now smash the crates and scale high walls. Check the alley near the man hole by the green house. Smash the red crates and take EGG #5 behind it. There is a round blue thing southeast of the map. Have Knuckles climb the wall of that building. Smash the crates at the top and take EGG #6. There is also a treasure chest here with ALLOY SLIPPERS / POW CANDY. From there, fly west onto the round tower. Collect the rings along with EGG #7. Explore the rest of the green rooftop, and have Sonic dash up the incline, to reach the last EGG (#8). Make your way back to the ground. Proceed to the northwest part of the city, towards the location of one of the abandoned bases in chapter 2. The tracker should go off. Talk to the SWAT Bot at the door to unlock a new mission. Side Mission: The Forgetful SWAT Bot ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ All you have to do here is to remind the robot of its purpose. Once you've done that, defeat it to get the 1st of 6 EGGMAN DEVICE. The item will open up another mission < Strange Eggman Devices >, which you must complete in order to proceed with the main quest. _____________________________________ There is another store next to item/equipment shop. Go there and the tracker will go off again. Enter the store and talk to the shopkeeper. This unlocks the side mission < Buyer Beware > Leave then head to south of the city. The GUN Soldier blocking the path earlier should be gone now. Shadow will zip by and set off your tracker. This unlocks the < Chasing Shadow > mission. Follow him to the Mystic Ruins. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mystic Ruins [02c-2] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Be sure to Big along in your party. Start by going back to the base where Knuckles was being held earlier, and collect EGGS #8, #9, #10. Side Mission: Chasing Shadow ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Explore the area around the air vents until Tails says something about the tracker going crazy. Shadow will drop in to chat with you, but the whole thing ends in a fight as expected. Defeat him to get EGGMAN DEVICE #2. Attack of the Roboarmadillos ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Now, check out the northwest portion of the ruins to find a robotic animal roaming around. The tracker should pick up a signal here as well. Defeat the Robodillos. Proceed to the star on the map. Bash up the Robodillos to claim EGGMAN DEVICE #3. Fly the Tornado to Green Hill Zone now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Green Hill Zone [02c-3] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have Knuckles climb the southwest mountain, and smash the crates at the lower dead end to find EGG #7. Next, scale up the gray tower to the south east. There is a chest with SPOOKY CHARM / IRON TONIC / CRAZY BEANS on top. Ride the raft back to the northern island, then fly west onto the smaller one and hop south for EGG #8. Now, get to the top of the platform just west of the airfield; fly east, and have Knuckles climb the rest of the way up. Smash the crates and take EGG #9. Move along and you'll eventually reach the top of the upper center island. Fly east near the bottom. Collect EGG #10. Next, head for the white structure south of the area. Have Knuckles climb along the left side to claim EGG #11 at the top. Side Mission: Buyer Beware ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Talk to the salesman wandering around near the entrance to this stage. Force him to hand over the shopkeeper's Prized Stapler. Take the item back to its owner in Central City. You will get EGGMAN DEVICE #4. Side Mission: A Young Boy in Trouble ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Now, cross the central bridge north towards a cave. You will get a signal here, and a kid will ask for help. Save your game. Enter the cave and defeat both Giant Scorpions. Claim EGGMAN DEVICE #5. Escort the boy home to Central City. Get a HEALTH LEAF from his dad. This clears the < Strange Eggman Devices > mission, and Tails puts together a PATTERN GENERATOR from the pieces you've collected. Side Mission: Cream and Cheese ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Back to Green Hill Zone. Go to the upper central island. Talk to Cream there Search for Cheese around Green Hill Zone. I'm not sure if the Chao's location is random, bit I found Cheese on top of the gray tower southeast of the area. Go back to Cream and let her tag along. She will join you. Side Mission: Norton is Missing! ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Search around the entire Green Hill Zone to find a frog named Norton. Remember that Big will mistake any frog as his missing friend. So keep looking until you find the right one. You'll receive a chest with a REVIVAL RING / ANTIDOTE and some XP. Side Mission: Stop the Signal ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Find a ramp on "Cream's island" that Sonic can use to reach the other island to the right. Talk to the scientist. You need to turn off three generators (the locations will be marked with stars on the map). Some Raptor Hawks will attack you each time you examine a generator. Once all the generators are off, the animals will stop attacking, but the robots will become a lot more aggressive. Go back to Dr. Madden to claim your CURE ALL SPRAY / REVIVAL RING treasure and 50 XP. _____________________________ Once you've done everything, climb the southwest mountain again, and have Knuckles scale his way up to the peak. Tails will use the Pattern Generator to disable the force field blocking the entrance to the base. Defeat 3 Laser Sentinels and go inside. Also, if you have chaos that grant lightning elemental attack, then by all means equip them. These enemies can self-repair when KOed. The best way to deal with this is to wear all 3 down until they have a few HPs left, then take them all out in one round. Their Crusher attack is a real pain, since it inflicts a status that reduce your attack damage to 1, and takes away plenty of HP too. So either hope that the move misses, or successfully tap all the rings on screen to reduce damage from it. Try to open up the map as much as possible. You will run into Shadow somewhere along the way, and he will pick a fight with you as expected. For the first round, you get to battle him with your whole party, but he will run away as soon as you beat him. Go after him while making sure not to crash into any dark orb, as these can deal a lot of damage. You will fight him with Sonic alone when you catch up to him. After the battle, persuade him to join your party. Ask him about Omega during the dialogue. This unlocks the side mission < Search for Omega > later on in Metropolis. When you regain control, hop onto the drum and onto the green roof. From there, head to the north end and hop onto the rusty roof. Fly northeast onto the next house, then fly to the top to find EGG #1. Head back to the green rooftop and navigate eastward, until you land on top of the water tank for EGG #2. Side Mission: Deliver the Warning ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Return to the entrance and speak to the man standing next to the blue drum for a side mission.The factory is located some ways north across the bridge. Talk to the foreman, then go back to the petitioner. You will be rewarded with a SPEED BAR and 500 XP. __________________________________ Next, dash up the ramp near the green roof house, then go around the back of the large elevated platform towards the front. Step on the spring to claim EGG #3 at the bottom of the platform. Look for another spring somewhere in the area to go even higher, then fly east to a foothold with EGG #4. Side Mission: Timmy in Trouble ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Make your way back to the ground, and talk to the old man by the house slightly west. There is a well some ways north of that house. Go down there, pick up EGG #5 and talk to Timothy. Take him back to his father. Your reward is some CRAZY BEANS and 75 XP. ______________________________ You can find EGG #6 behind the bushes west of the old man's house. Go back to the well and dash up the nearby ramp. You'll land on the mountains to the north. Fly west from there then use the springs to reach the southern platform. Pick up EGG #7. Back to the gound once again. Side Mission: Man in the Booth ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Cross the only bridge in this area. The man in the nearby booth will ask you to bring him some reading material. So go to the Station Square shop and buy the "Blue Ridge Times" for one ring. Take that back to the man in the booth. You will receive a PRUNE JUICE and 25 XP. ______________________________ Now, climb to up the factory and drop down the east side. You should find EGG #8 somewhere in that area. Go back to the factory and fly left. Have Sonic dash around two sets of loops to the east platform. Take EGG #9. Dash up the nearby ramp then use the spring to get atop the pillar. Grab EGG #10. There is a man standing in the middle of the upper area. Side Mission: GUN Escort ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ All you have to do here is to accompany the GUN Official back to the Blue Ridge airfield. Your reward is IMMUNITY BOOSTER / ANTIDOTE and 100 XP. ________________________ After that, make your to the upper portion of the area, and head east to the last darkened section of the map. You will run into Shade. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Boss: Procurator Shade & Nocturnus Velite x2 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= All the enemies absorb HP with every attack, equipping a chao with Regen All is a good way to counter this. Quickly get rid of Shade using Power Moves, or focus all your regular attacks on her until she falls. But take note that Shade can counter your attacks, so be prepared to heal when needed. The Velites can use Stasis Grenade, which deals damage and inflicts Sleep on the target. Fortunately, the status is often short-lived. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= After the battle head to the tunnel entrance at the northwest corner of the area. Talk to the man nearby to start solving the puzzle. Examine the monitor and it will display a pattern. Now you have to step on the switches that correspond to the patterns shown on the monitor. You have to solve three of these, and the patterns become more complicated each time. You may want to copy the patterns on paper as a guide, in case you're having a bit of trouble recognizing the shapes. The puzzle set resets every time you step on the wrong switch. The door opens when you clear the 3rd pattern. I will refer to these teams as Team Sonic and Team Eggman from here on. Also, this room will be your new stronghold, so come back here whenever you need to replenish HP and PP. As Team Sonic, head northeast to find EGG #1 at the end of the path. Then turn a bit and head north up the stairs, to get above ground. Controls will switch to Team Eggman now. Just go through the door to the south. In the next room, go left for chest with RUBBER GLOVES / HEALTH SEED / CURE ALL SPRAY. The device you're looking is just below. Get WEAPON PART. Back to Team Sonic. Climb up the red staircase near the south exit. You will find EGG #2 up there. Come back down. Knuckles can climb up the nearby wall. At the top, go lower left for chest with SWIFT BOOTS / RING OF LIFE / GRAPPLE CLAWS. Head north, fly up to the crate, and go along until you reach EGG #3, then hop back down. Next, hop of the east side of the wall to claim EGG #4. Go all the way east along the middle path, and scale up the wall at the end to enter the airbase. There is a red wall at the lower level that Knuckles can climb up of as well. You will get EGG #5 at the top. Control once again shifts to your other party. There is a chest at the corner of the tunnel patrolled by the huge robot. The treasure chest contains ROCK SALT / HEALTH ROOT / POW GUM. Just east from there is the exit leading above ground. Use the nearby spring to get atop the wall and smash through the crates. Fly (level 3) east to the next wall to find EGG #6. Hop off to the lower level for EGG #7 next to the incline. Now climb up the that incline grab the WEAPON PART from the chest. Next, fly up the crates next to the top underground exit. The chest up there contains BLUNT CLAWS / POW GUM. Just south your current location is a control room of sorts. Talk to the old man there to begin solving. The Escalator Puzzle ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Examine the panel at the center first. It will display a combination of colors, that you must match to activate the escalator. Look around the area and you should see three other switches positioned on red, blue and yellow panels. These panels are your guide as to what color each switch represents. Now just press those switch in the same order shown by the main monitor. There are three sets of combinations you must clear. Doing so will raise the esclator. You will be rewarded with a POW CANDY and 750 XP. _____________________ Ride the escalator up and fly west. Keep flying, relying on the fans to take you further. until you end up at the top of the south underground exit. Claim EGG #8 up there. Also, if you land on the top of the structure with a staircase to the south, drop off the sides for EGG #9 and a chest with RUSTY HYDRAULICS / HEALTH LEAF. Naviagate to the top-left side of the airbase for a chest with SPEEDY SNEAKERS in it. You will find EGG #10 next to Eggman's lab, which is marked with a star on the map. Enter the lab. After some dialogue, the controls will shift to Team Sonic. At the air skiff, beat the captain of the Maurauders at the top of the area. Then approach the group of enemies at the bottom of the stairs. Back with Team Eggman again. Ride the escalator then fly west at the top. On the next platform fly west one more time. Side Mission: Search for Omega ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Go along a bit and head down the stairs. You will find E123 Omega there. Defeat the 4 Laser Drones. Shadow and Rouge then persuades Omega to tag along with the crew. You have to go back to the underground stronghold in order to include Omega in your party. ______________________________ Get on the escalator once more. Fly west, south, hop down, fly south. You will now be where the cannon is. Save your game then climb upstairs. Defeat the Guardian Pawn and the two Laser Drone Mk. IIs. Use Tails' Flash Bang and Eggman's Bombardment power moves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Angel Island [02e-2] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Controls will once again shift to Team Sonic. Start by flying to the small island at the southeast corner to claim EGG #1. Go back to the starting point and hop off to the side. The chest has SPARKLY GLOVES / CLOVER JUICE / HEALTH LEAF. Continue forward, climb the wall, use the spring for EGG #2. Now, make your way to the lower-right portion of the area, then hop along east to find EGG #3. Turn around and climb up the stairs of the northern structure. The chest contains 2 POW DRINKS / 1 HEALTH ROOT. Head for the central path and go north then turn east. Smash the crates, use the spring to reach a chest with SWIFT BOOTS / SPEED BAR / RING OF LIFE. Hop down, climb the rock to the left to claim EGG #4. Make your way to the ramp in the middle of the area, save your game then climb up the stairs. Defeat 4 Nocturnal Velites. The game will switch to Team Eggman now. Just go to the underground stronghold for some dialogue. Back with Sonic, defeat 4 Nocturne Hestatus. Tails and company will arrive, then you'll be given a chance to reorganize your battle party. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Boss: Imperator Ix & Nocturne Hestatus x2 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- All the enemies can leech HP with every attack. Also, take note that Ix is very well-defended against physical attacks, so your best bet here is to use magic-based power moves. Omega's abilities are very effective, particularly the beam attack. You can either get rid of the Hestatuses first or put them to sleep with Knuckles' Quake Punch. Another good thing about Omega is that his regular attacks hit all targets. You can use that to wear down Ix's lackeys faster. Ix has various "anomaly" moves that can inflict various status effects; one of which can even revive his dead allies. Keep your PPs up and hit Ix with your best available magic-type power move. Heal your characters with Health Seeds or Health Leaves when low on HP. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- A series of dialogues and cut-scenes follow. Your stronghold is located at the center to the south. Begin by heading left from the starting point for EGG #1. Turn back, fly southwest, then hop on the round platform and into the hole. Activate the first power generator. Next, climb the inclines of the eastern structure, dash up the ramp to land on a platform with EGG #2. Now, head to the west structure and climb the wall there to find EGG #3. Now, go activate the two remaining power generators. EGG #4 is inside the east generator room. Once the lab's power is back on, proceed to top-most room of the east structure. Save your game and enter the Hazard Vault. Fight Eggbot and 2 Assault Drone MK. IIs. The Eggbot's attacks can blind your characters. After that, go further into the room for some crates that you can smash. The chest behind that has CURE ALL SPRAY / IRON CLAWS / POW DRINK. EGG #5 is there as well. Head back to Eggman's lab and talk to Tails. These enemies have a lot of HP and very resistant to physical attacks. Your best choice here is to use Shade's Echidna Rush and Omega's Beam Cannon. Equip PP boosting armors and chaos on your characters. Refreshers and Economizers will help a lot in PP management. That said, go back inside the Cyclone and talk to Rouge for a mission. Side Mission: Secret Operations ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ What you need to do here is to collect "Nocturne Tech" items for Rouge. You can get them by achieving "A" ranks in battles vs. Nocturne Princeps. So keep beating the said enemies and deliver the techs to Rouge in the Cyclone Give her about 10 Nocturne Techs, and she'll make you promise not to give her any more. Agree with her for 2 HEALTH ROOTS and 1000 XP. _______________________________ Head east from the starting point, smash the crates and proceed up the incline for EGG #1. Go back to the Cyclone and proceed south. Defeat another pair of Kron Warriors. Continue further down then hop into the hole find EGG #2. Enter the southwest cave. Smash the crates inside. Take EGG #3. Go through the north exit then the east one. You will emerge at the upper portion of the western mountains. Take the north path to EGG #4. Leave the spring alone for now. Then go along to the end of the southeast path for EGG #5. Now, head for the northern cave. There is a Kron that sells good equipments inside. Talk to the Frag. Outside, make your way back to the ground and proceed to the southeast corner of the area for EGG #6. Enter the nearby cave. Inside, talk to Nestor the Wise to unlock another side mission. Side Mission: Relics of the Past ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ In this mission you have to collect items called "Nocturne Relic" -- one from each colony, and bring them to Nestor. He will give you a reward for every relic you bring to him. There are 4 Nocturne Relics in total. Nestor rewards you with a MED EMITTER and 8000 XP. ________________________________ Make your way back to the upper levels of the western mountains, take the north path, and use the springs to reach a higher area. Talk to the Kron to start solving the puzzle. The Conveyor Belt Puzzle ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ For this puzzle, you have to find the correct combination of symbols, by pressing the switches to raise the crushers, to get across the conveyor belt to the other side. Blue (=), Yellow (|), Red (+) is the combination you're looking for. Have Sonic dash across afterwards. ________________________ At the other side, pick up EGG #7 nearby. Just follow that path to the next mission objective. You should find EGG #8 behind a set of crates along the way. Shut off the generator inside the cave. Back outside and enter the cave to Frag's left. Inside, go around left for chest with NOCTURNE RELIC. Take that back to Nestor for a POW DRINK and 75 XP. Head to the opposite side and grab the first CHAOS EMERALD. Make your way back to the Cyclone. Check yellow arrow to open the world map. Defeat a pair of N'rggal Warriors. These things have poor defense, but can fully replenish their health through a single HP leech. So you have to kill them as quickly as you can manage. A perfect combo from Echidna Rush can eliminate one of these enemies in a single go. Start by heading right then hop off at the end for EGG #1. Go back to the Cyclone and hop off north for chest with NOCTURNE RELIC. From there, head west, plow through the barrier for EGG #2. Make your way back to the starting point one more time. Proceed left then plow through the electric barrier. Go east first to find EGG #3 behind some crates. Turn back west and use the springs to get upper level ahead and grab EGG #4. Enter nearby cave. At the top, talk to the N'rrgal Queen. You can find EGG #5 behind an electric barrier just below the ramp at east corner of the area. Make your way back to the Cyclone. Your ship will then crash land on the next colony. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zoah Colony [02h-2] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Defeat a pair of Zoah Brutes. Again Shade's Echidna Rush and Omega's Beam Cannon are the your moves of choice against them. Go around to the right side then hop off to the bottom level for EGG #1. Enter the nearby room to your right. The chest has CURSED GLOVES / PRUNE JUICE / REFRESHER WAVE. Side Mission: The Night Stalker ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Go down along the right path and talk to someone named Haniman. Defeat the his holographic Dragodon. You will obtain a chest with PRECURSOR TABLET / POW DRINK. and 3000 XP. _______________________________ Go back up and talk to the robot by the door. Ask about the pirates. This unlocks the side mission < Pirates of the Twilight Cage > Pick the tablet as your reward for the "Night Stalker" mission. This unlocks another side quest < The Argus Event > Continue further south and enter the house a bit left. The chest has IMMUNITY BOOSTER / ANTIDOTE / REFRESHER WAVE. Leave then head towards the house at the center of the area. Defeat the Zoah Brute. Grab chest for NOCTURNE RELIC. Climb the west incline then dash up the ramp to reach platform with EGG #2. Hop back down and head for the southeast corner of the area. Use the door to access a higher area with EGG #3. Turn back and jump to the building slightly southwest. Dash up the ramp. You'll eventually reach the rooftop with EGG #4 on it. Make your way back to the ground. Talk to the guard near the shop and enter the house. The chest in there has VOXAI TELEPORTER / IMMUNITY BOOSTER / MED EMITTER. Return to the sothmost building and approach the entrance of the base. Tell the guard that you want to petition for a challenge, then mention applying for citizenship. You'll be taken to a new area. There are 2 chests here. One has REFRESHER WAVE / IRON TONIC / ROCK SALT. The other has MED EMITTER / CRAZY BEANS / CLOVER JUICE. Save your game. You will be fughting 4 consecutive battles here, so make the best possible preparations. The first two rounds should be easy enough. The third fight will be against 2 Zoah Brutes and Commander Syrax. The commander's power move is quite complicated. Just try to input as many commands as you can correctly to reduce damage. Fortunately he has less HP compared to his support crew. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Boss: General Raxos -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This is a one-on-one battle between Sonic and Raxos. Naturally, Sonic is faster so you'll get more turns than your opponent. Keep a decent supply of Health Leaves and Health Roots handy, and heal when your HP goes below 110. Try to lessen damage from Super Nova, by accumulating as many correct command inputs as you can. Counter with your own sets of Power Moves. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Passcode Puzzle ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Talk to the smaller robot outside the base. A set of sample code will be displayed. Try to figure out the mathematical equation used to obtain the fourth digit. Then step on the red switch. Use the same equation to come up with the missing digit. Select another character to examine the panel. Tap the action command to stop the counter once it shows the right digit. ____________________ Go back inside the base. Collect the chest with IRON TONIC / CURE ALL SPRAY. The other chest has CURSED GLOVES / PSYCHIC WATER. Talk to the slime positioned below the two ramps north of town for a side mission. So take advantage of the temporary peace and collect all the loot you can find. From the starting point, go into the house a little southwest. The chest inside has CURE ALL SPRAY / CRAZY BEANS / RING OF LIFE. Next, head east from the Cyclone and teleport into the crystal for EGG #1. Teleport out to the other side and enter the northeast house to claim EGG #2. You will find EGG #3 some ways south from your ship. Examine the teleporter under the ramp to the northest. You will end up on the southeast platform. Use the teleporter there to reach the west island. Go south and teleport into the crystal for EGG #4. After that, head north into the house to find another NOCTURNE RELIC. Proceed down to the next house. The treasure chest inside has a ZOAH SHIELD / HEALTH SEED / PSYCHIC WATER. Next, check one of the teleporters to the northeast, to reach the northwest platform for a story event. Return to the middle island afterwards. Navigate through the teleporters until you reach Thebe's house on the east island. Go inside and talk to Thebes. Defeat the enemies. Leave the house. The citizens of this island will now attack you, so be ready. Use the teleporter at the southwest part of the area, to reach the platform with EGG #5 on it. Now dash up the incline to the northeast to reach the northwest platform. Some bad guys will meet you there. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Boss: Thelxe, Voxai Conspirators x2 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Again regular attacks from these guys can inflict Poison. Use Immunity Boosters to counter this, or remove the status with Antidotes when it gets bad. Also, having at least two characters equip "Regen-All" chaos helps a lot in nullifying damage from Poison. Sonic should attack or use Power Moves if you have PPs to spare, while both Shade and Knuckles team up for Echidna Rush. These creatures are weak to Fire so have Omega use Flamethrower on them. If Cream is in your party, then she should use Heal on your party if needed. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- You will receive the GREAT EMERALD. Examine the large purple thing to reach the next colony. Hop down at the ledge to find EGG #1. Next, make your way to the top-left corner. From there, proceed southward and phase through one of the crystals for EGG #2. The chest nearby contains a NOCTURNE RELIC. You can find EGG #3 behind some crates further south. Turn around, go right through the archway, and dash to the other side. There, phase through one of the obstacles to find EGG #4 at the bottom. After that, enter the small passageway west to find a chest with GRAPPLE CLAWS / MED EMITTER / REFRESHER WAVE. Stop by the other ledge, and phase through the obstacles west for EGG #5. Continue further left, and use the spring within the barrier to reach the platform with EGG #6. Go back to the east portion of the area. Talk to Thebes' friend. He has another puzzle waiting for you. The Facewall Puzzle ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Examine the top panel first, then send three character to step on all the switches some distance away. One of the colored panels on the floor will flash. Quickly change to the character standing on that panel, and tap the action command. Do this for a total of 8 seconds. A new color will be shown every second. If a color flashes twice then don't do anything. ____________________ After that, go back north and climb up the wall. Head west at the top then hop down onto the center platform for a boss fight. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Boss: Overminds Leucosia, Ligaia, Riadne -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This battle is very similar to the one you had against Thelxe earlier. Have at least two characters equip "Regen-All" chaos. Counter Posion with Antidotes or Immunity Boosters. Sonic should attack or use Axe Kick when possible; Omega should use Flamethrower. Beam Cannon works well too, but it only hits one target at a time. Knuckles and Shade should team up for Echidna Rush. A perfect combo from that move can take away as much as 75% of the target's total HP, so it is a good idea to equip PP-boosting chaos on both Knuckles and Shade. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= You will receive two more CHAOS EMERALDS. Go to your ship at Voxai Colony Beta. Now, with Team Sonic, go forward; Charyb then appers and locks the door. When you regain control, enter the struture up ahead. Hop onto the platform further in for a chest with MED EMITTER / CURE ALL SPRAY / REFRESHER WAVE. Press the switch afterwards. Go back outside and go through the west door. Controls will very briefly switch to Team Knuckles. Go east up the incline and you will be stopped by some laser turrets. Back with Sonic, use the spring and exit through the nearby door. In the next area, fly to the bottom platform to claim EGG #1. After that, fly back to the starting point and into the west room. Get to the upper level and head east up the stairs. In the next screen, go west first to find EGG #2. Take the east staircase back outside. Go along the east path down to EGG #3. Turn around then take the other path to the switch and press it to deactivate the laser turrets. As Team Knuckles, fly all the way east into the room at the end. The chest inside has a MED EMITTER / CURE ALL SPRAY / REFRESHER WAVE. Take the stairs back outside. Battle against Gizoid Centurions. You can't win no matter what, so just let your party take a beating until the fight stops. You will be controlling Sonic once more. Turn around and enter the nearby lab. Check the two inactive Gizoids in this room, then go downstairs. There is another Gizoid to the left. Hop down; go around east to the exit for one more Gizoid. Now go back to the second floor of the lab, then examine one of the robots there. Tails should be able to take down the shielding. Back with Knuckles. You get to fight the Centurions again, but now the odds should shift in your favor. So pick them apart to move on. Continue forward up the springs. Head west at the top for EGG #4. Turn back. Climb the wall. Scylla will be waiting for you there. Control shifts to Team Sonic. Go back outside. Proceed to where the switch for the laser turret was, and dash up the nearby ramp. Take EGG #5. Descend the blue steps; dash around the ramp. Save your game and enter the room marked with a star on the map. You will now be in Charyb's lair, which promptly gets flooded. You will not be able to use POW Moves underwater, and your HPs will gradually deplete as well. Use the air pockets to keep you health up as much as possible. When you regain control, go straight ahead for EGG #6. Turn back and go east. Ignore the split path going straight to the end for EGG #7. Back track to the fork and head north then east to the next area. Heal up, save your game, and approach Charyb for a boss fight. Again, there is no way to win while the lair is still flooded. Just hold out until the fight stops. Control shifts to Team Knuckles. You will fight Scylla right away. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Boss: Prefect Scylla -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Scylla regular attacks can weaken your characters, while her Might Slash Power Move can inflict Sleep, but fortunately the said attack is quite easy to avoid as the onscreen commands are simple. Have Big use Feel No Pain, to draw Scylla's attention to himself, while your other party members use their best Power Moves on Scylla -- Echidna Rush does wonders against this boss, so use that as much as possible. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= You will receive the sixth CHAOS EMERALD. Enter nearby room. You will find EGG #8 inside. The chest contains MED EMITTER / CURE ALL SPRAY / REFRESHER WAVE. Press the switch. Back with Sonic for another boss fight. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Boss: Prefect Charyb -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This battle is pretty much the same as the one with Scylla. She also has Might Slash which can Sleep your characters. Use your best attacks and POW moves. Heal when needed. Try to avoid Mighty Slash as much as possible. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Retreive the seventh CHAOS EMERALD. Back with Team Knuckles. Leave the room and hop up onto the roof. From there, head east to find EGG #9 on a ledge to the far right. Turn back to the main path, go north then climb the wall. Knuckles and company will be transported to Ix's chamber. You will be controlling Team Sonic now. Make your way back to the previous area. There, head for the center of the room. Ride elevator out of the sewer. In the next area, ignore the door to Ix's chamber for now. Instead, go right and step on springs to reach a platform with EGG #10. Enter Ix's chamber. Team Knuckles gets to fight Ix after some cut-scenes. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Boss: Imperator Ix Power Throne, Power Pylon x2 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Equip attack boost chaos on both Knuckles and Shade, while your other two party members carry regenerative chaos. The Pylons can restore large amounts of HP to Ix. So destroy those as soon as you can. When Ix revives them, take them out again. Fortunately, the Pylons are never revived to full HP. Have Shade use Echidna Rush on Ix, while the others deal with the Pylons. Ix's Doom Orb inflicts Sleep and Sluggish, and may somtimes cause instant death on a character. Try your best to avoid that move. Feel free to use Antidotes to cure status effects. Heal with Med Emitters. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- You get to fight Ix again, and this time with Team Sonic. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Boss: Imperator Ix Power Throne, Power Pylon x2 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ix only has half of his first round HP this time (800 HP). The Power Pylons don't heal Ix every round either, so you can ignore them now, and focus all your attacks on Ix. As always, hit him with your best power moves, preferably the non-elemental ones. Doom Orb still does the same thing -- Sleep + Sluggish, sometimes KO. Try to make that move miss if possible. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Knuckles then leaves the party to retrieve the Master Emerald. Reorganize your battle party to keep Ix and company busy. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Boss: Imperator Ix, Gizoid Guardian x2 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Your opponents will start the fight by running away. They won't actually disappear, but the chase sequence does complicate things somewhat. Try to avoid slamming into any of the orbs until you catch up to Ix's group. The Gizoid Guardians are not really a threat, mainly because their attacks miss all the time. Get rid of Ix first. Weaken his Dark Anomaly attack as much as you can. Once Ix is gone, sweep up the Gizoid Guardians. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Now, you get to fight Ix for the last time with Super Sonic. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Final Boss: Imperator Ix -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This battle will test how much you've mastered the execution of onscreen commands. Input the commands correctly to avoid Ix's Overload, and maximize the power of Sonic's attacks. This is pretty much your only chance, since Ix can fully restore his HP at the beginning of each round. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= You can listen to Tails go through the staff roll, or you can skip the whole thing. You can then play the game again in new game + mode, where you keep everything you've gathered in your previous playthrough. ============================================================================ III.
