You could say the same about damn near every game in every series every made.

I feel sorry for the small portion of gamers who choose to pass on this based on past CoD experiences. Everything Ive read from PROFFESIONAL game critics has been posistive for the most part. Treyarch changd up ALOT but kept enough the same. Its a pretty good balance. You can read user reviews and see the same old tired tirade of "All CoDs are the same, Activision is greedy, blah blah blah." I wouldnt listen to those. Those are from kids who more then likley have already prestiged in Black Ops 2, but dont want to look like a "sell out" to their friends. Even though their friends are doing the exact same thing. In short, buy the damn game. Its just a game. You holding back your $60 is not going to a damn thing to Activision.

Professional reviews are catered more to the mainstream then the hardcore. Every year Call of duty gets a nine or a ten and every year the multiplayer is just as broken. I know my not buying the game won't mean anything to activision but it means I have sixty less dollars to spend on games I want to play and know I will enjoy more then another call of duty game. I don't hate cod I just dislike some of the core design choices and what it's doing to the gaming industry.

Um, I dont know about you, but most people who play CoD DONT go visit gaming websites. The vast majority, aka "mainstream" CoD players are casual gamers. They play CoD whenever they have a spare minute, in between classes or maybe a night off work. As far as the multiplayer being "broken" yeah, there have been instances where glitches or mods have been found that broke the multiplayer. But when you have THAT many people playing it online, thats bound to happen. And it was quickly addressed. From a design perspective, the multiplayer holds up. And that comes from proffesional game critics AS WELL AS other companies and developers. I dont know about you, but I trust people who actually MAKE games for a living over some self entitled whiny brat on the internet....

"Multiplayer is just as broken" Just because you suck at it, doesn't make it broken.

    yeah thats right lol

EDGE magazine (as usual) put it nicely "The people who decry Call Of Duty for being the same every year have a point, of course, but you get the feeling they don’t actually play it."

May I ask, off-topic and all, if you are the undead re-incarnation of grim08? If so: you're previous self was a dick... just so's you know. Do zombies forget about their previous selves? I hope he's not still banging around up there. That would suck. Especially if you've got some Jekyll & Hyde shit going on. You know what, I think I prefer you when you're dead.
  • zombi3grim - November 15, 2012 8:31 p.m.

I am indeed. Still the same guy. Had to make a new account because a few people on here thought it would be funny to follow me around on every thread on the site and troll the shit out of me. Pretty sad and pathetic but..meh. I can still be a dick when I wanna be. Just ask trip toe, bladed falcon, know your pokemon and a few others who ive gotten into with recently.

Between Black Ops 2, Halo 4 and FIFA 13, I think I'm pretty much sorted for games until 2013. I've only played Black Ops for around an hour online. Doesn't seem much different to any other CoD game. I'm not really into the single player aspects of CoD games but looking forward to Zombies.

Thats the point. You dont want to change the multiplayer TOO much, so as to alienate fans of the series. You change just enough to keep things fresh. The Pick 10 system is amazing. You have complete customization of your loadouts. Also, scorestreaking instead of killstreaking is much more preffered. I see alot more cooperation in matches and more people going for objectives then Ive ever seen.
  • snapback - November 14, 2012 5:19 p.m.

but that is the point of buying a new game is to not play the samething again i mean if you spent 60 dollars on the game the game should be diffrent then the last one right because you waited almost a year and you get the same stuff!!!!!!!!!!
  • awesomesauce - November 14, 2012 10:25 p.m.

Not too different though. I mean that's like saying madden next year shouldn't be a football game or Pokemon shouldn't be an RPG. You just gotta find a way to remix and improve the old stuff
  • zombi3grim - November 15, 2012 5:15 a.m.

But its NOT the exact same thing. Thats what people fail to realize. You want to keep some stuff the same, so people know its the CoD they know and love. But change up enough to keep it fresh. Thats called a "series."
  • KnowYourPokemon - November 13, 2012 12:56 p.m.

Well I haven't gotten to play a major amount of it yet but I will say this much. Graphics haven't really improved at all, not that graphics make the game but it really is noticeable that the game is running on an old engine. It's interesting to look up comments from metacritic and other reviews to see people whine about how it's simple copy/paste of Black Ops and MW3. I just don't see that. They've changed quite a bit to how things work in multiplayer to the point where I'm actually enjoying playing it, and this is coming from somebody who despised MW2/3 and wasn't too fond of Black Ops either... I'm enjoying CoD... clearly tripped into some weird alternate dimension of some kind.
  • KnowYourPokemon - November 13, 2012 12:57 p.m.

Old engine without much in terms of improvement*
  • Divine Paladin - November 13, 2012 2:36 p.m.

I'm still wondering when the hell Activision will fork out the money for an engine that's not Quake III. With the next gen around the corner, the engine's age is going to show a LOT more very soon, so they better get to that if they want the series to continue to thrive.
  • dcobs123 - November 13, 2012 12:23 p.m.

Not getting this but the zombies mode seems cool. It sounds liking they're taking a cue from DayZ with the large maps.
  • KingOfCarts24/7 - November 13, 2012 11:50 a.m.

I wonder how long it'll be before "ugh multiplayer is the same, same cheap kills and camping and spawn killing and uuugggghhhhh" talk like it is WITH EVERY CALL OF DUTY. Not trying to troll, just stating a fact. So please, don't bother commenting back to me if it's gonna be COD IS MY LIFE AND ALL OTHER GAMES SUCK BECAUSE MILITARY SHOOTERS ARE THE BEST BRO SCREAAAAAMM
  • zombi3grim - November 13, 2012 2:54 p.m.

You realize hating on CoD has become so mainstream, you seem just as idiotic as someone who would reply back to you saying "COD IS MY LIFE AND ALL OTHER GAMES SUCK BECAUSE MILITARY SHOOTERS ARE THE BEST BRO SCREAAAAAMM"
