Black Ops II gets out early, spoiler videos appear ahead of next week’s official release date

Xbox 360 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II have managed to find their way into the hands of some consumers ahead of the game’s official November 13 release date. Inevitably, a deluge of video and live-streaming footage of Activision’s shooter has since appeared across the internet, easily accessible for anyone who can use Google.

Activision hasn’t offered any explanation as to how copies found their way into the wild, although design director David Vonderhaar from Black Ops II developer Treyarch commented on Twitter: “If you are going to live-stream the game early, which I don’t remotely recommend, you could at least be good at it. :P” He also promised official Black Ops II streams will appear in the next few days.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is coming to PC, 360 and PS3 on 13 November. The Wii U version arrives 18/30 November in the US/UK respectively.

I guess now we need strict DRM and activation codes for Xbox, right?

"Before you can activate this game, we need to check some details. Please email ActiVision and Microsoft a copy of the receipt, a photo of you purchasing the game, a signed statement of the store clerk and a photocopy of your passport for identification purposes. Once we have received your details, each company will send you one-third of an activation code. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to confirm your details. Upon entering the two-thirds of the activation code, you will need to contact both ActiVision and Microsoft by phone. After answering a few security security questions, each company will offer the final one-sixth each. Once complete, we will perform an online security check to confirm that you are carrying a legitimate copy of Call Of Duty: Black Ops II and that your XBox Live account is valid. This could take up to 120 minutes. Please read the manual whilst this is confirmed (you should have up to 40 minutes a page - we know there are four pages but the last one is blank). Once finalised, you will be presented with a new password that you must enter each time you wish to play online multiplayer. Please keep this password safe (that's why we have a blank page in the manual). If you lose this password, you will have to repeat this process and pay a £10 charge. We hope you enjoy Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (or whatever one it is you just bought)."

LOL. Sadly, that's not too far off from what EA/Ubisoft used to be like.

"Dear consumers, We're not sure why you're complaining about DRM. It's not like you play these games offline. We certainly don't. Not during release, development, beta-testing. Never. Kind regards, The Games Industry"

I'd love for developers to have to log in and activate security codes and have a constant internet connection whenever they have to work on a game.

Oh my goodness, an early copy or two has gotten out, it's the end of the gaming world as we know it. I look at it this way, "Really, you get to play COD's 4-5 hour champaign that everyone will complain is generic and unoriginal a week early. Man thats awesome." Last time I checked, that game is played for its muliplayer mode. It's not like they can play that early. Oh and in regards to the zombie mode that you are getting to play early, its not like there are not 50,000 other games that let you slay zombies.

Can't wait! No second chance! I love these games, mostly the guns. I just got a M4 like in the game http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-video-games.htm and they have a bunch of other guns from different games.
