BioShock Infinite sells more than 4 million since March

Four million isn't Call of Duty numbers, but it's not half bad for a semi-political, semi-historical shooter: Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick shed some insight on BioShock Infinite's sales since March in a conference call with investors today (via Joystiq).

"BioShock Infinite is North America's best-selling multiplatform release so far this year, according to NPD," Zelnick said. "The title has crossed the 4 million units selling mark, and we expect it to become the top-selling release in the BioShock franchise."

Earlier today, BioShock Infinite fans got some more good news when three new pieces of DLC were revealed: arena-fighting Clash in the Clouds, which launches today, and Burial at Sea, a two-part narrative through Rapture starring familiar faces from both storylines.

Take-Two reported $142.7 million in net revenues for the three month period which ended on June 30, compared to $226.1 million for the same period of 2013. Its profit grew to $48.8 million from $39.4 million.

Considering this was probably the most anticipated and best reviewed game so far this year, I'm surprised it's only sold 4 million copies. "It's no CoD" - got that right. CoD sold 7.5 mil in the first day. I'm really shocked to read that one of the best games this year only sold that many copies.

That picture is from a Columbia/Rapture crossover? All my dreams have come true! I was really poo-poo about that season pass when I saw it in the box but this is going to be awesome.

It's from a son-to-come DLC where you play in Rapture, just BEFORE it goes bad.
