Bethesda stakes its claim on all the world's free time with Oblivion/Fallout 3 value bundle

Go ahead, it's not like you had plans for this decade

Bethesda evidently believes that the human race is a destructive influence upon the Earth, and has determined to curb our rapacious ways by offering a distraction for the next few years. Well, that or the company's just decided that Fallout 3 and Oblivion are old enough to sell at a discount, and figures that if you want one, you might want the other; either way, that's a heaping helping of playtime right there.

Just announced on the Bethesda Blog, the Oblivion and Fallout Double Pack will be available in North America come April 3 at $29.99 for Xbox 360 or $19.99 for PC. By May, we can logically infer that the world will be in the hands of PS3 owners and those who've completed both titles. Use your newfound power wisely, folks.

Two mediocre games for the price of one

Mediocre for pc, stellar for consoles.

WHAT?! You haven't played either of them unless you've played them on the PC. Enjoy your load times ;)

Here's a question: why are games always $10 cheaper on the PC? It's the same game with the same packaging.

if its on ps3, id consider buying it i mean, 30$ for those, its more expensive used in my local shop

I would buy it if they were GoTY... but its not. Cool though

It's because they don't have to pay the same licensing fee necessary to release a game on a console (It's a $10 fee). However, some PC titles are getting the Console pricing anyway, because sometimes they can get away with it (Skyrim, CoD franchise, etc). Some publisher (Activision, or EA...It's always one of those two) started the trend of charging console prices for PC games, when the games are newly released. It's starting to catch on ~_~

I can't imagine very many people haven't played both games already, but this is a great deal for those who have been living under a rock for the past 6 years or so.
  • Crabhand - February 17, 2012 10:27 p.m.

I would say that's a pretty good deal for anybody who has missed out. Which I can't imagine is a large number of people.

were you dropped as a baby? My pc version of oblivion has better graphics and is modded out so that im a flying super saiyan. Can your console do that?
  • joe1991 - February 18, 2012 10:03 a.m.

yea, goty editions and/or a HD graphics update. I'll def buy a fallout 3 /new Vegas pack when they make one with all the dlc included. Anyway I hear they are just starting work on Fallout 4, perhaps it'll come in a bundle on the Microsoft 720 with kinect voice capabilities!
  • EwoksTasteLikeChicken - February 18, 2012 11:41 a.m.

Do these have all the DLC with them or not?
  • Dadyo238 - February 18, 2012 9:26 p.m.

No, but if we did that, it would ruin the awesomeness of exploring the game world.
  • Darklurkr23 - February 18, 2012 11:29 p.m.

I haven't played Oblivion. Played Fallout 3..... hated it. But I did 1000/1000 it so u know I gave it a chance. Only good thing about that games was Liam Neison and Nuking the town.

While I guess this might be interesting for some you can easily pick up both GOTY editions on steam for under $25 if you get them on sale. I got Oblivion for about 7 and Fallout 3 for 20ish.
  • PimplesInYourAsstista - February 19, 2012 6:41 p.m.

    You're barely even trying anymore.
  • ChaosEternal - February 19, 2012 7:24 p.m.

True, but it would add the awesomeness of flying around as a Super Saiyan.
  • ThatFanInThePeacoat - February 20, 2012 10:58 p.m.

This is what I want to know. I (shamefully) don't have DLC for either game (not even Shivering Isles). I wouldn't mind if it didn't come with horse armor.

    Dammit! You've got me there.
