I think Jason Brody is a really underrated character. Seeing him going from some sheltered rich white kid, who could barely handle killing one dude, to a tattooed badass hooping and hollering after killing and blowing up tons of people is pretty damn interesting, especially coupled with the end choice of going home to a place he's not going to fit in anymore.

Where the hell is Kratos(God of War)or Scorpion(Mortal Kombat)or Chris Walker(Outlast)?!You will pay for this, mortals!!!

Characters "of the generation" implies that the character has made his debut in the seventh-generation (Wii/360/PS3), which isn't the case for either Kratos or Scorpion. I don't know Chris Walker so I can't pronounce myself on his status.

Oh, John Marston is the Mac Daddy of characters in a game

Would have loved to see the Grunts from Halo, Master Chief, Johnson from Halo. Alot of good characters, funny as hell but I suppose it would pertain to the question. As mentioned above, the different gen of consoles

Gamesradar might want to read their red dead review, where they compared Marston to a piece of paper saying he's one dimensional......

Haha really? They said so? How hypocritical. But maybe it was that specific reviewer who thought so as well, who knows.

How is it that Bioshock Infinite's Elizabeth was not on here?
  • usmovers_02 - June 22, 2014 11:30 a.m.

Wait wait wait... half the bioshock crew made the list but NOT Elizabeth?!? She's arguably the best character in the entire series! That's gotta be a simple oversight on their part.

This list is seriously lacking some really good characters, namely Max Payne, Cole Phelps, Niko Bellic, Vito Scaletta, Kane and Lynch
  • usmovers_02 - June 22, 2014 11:30 a.m.

Max Payne is from the gen before last. Niko isn't bad but he's not great either.
  • GrandTheftAuto - August 5, 2014 6:55 a.m.

    Um, Max Payne 3?
  • BaraChat - August 5, 2014 11:56 a.m.

Character "of the generation" implies that he/she needed to make his/debut in the generation, which isn't the case for Max Payne.

So no Trevor (gta5), no Dovakiin? No minecraft Steve??? What is going on GR staff??
  • usmovers_02 - June 22, 2014 11:30 a.m.

    The Dovakiin isn't a character.

I think that John Marston is the best character from last generation. He was serious, but he still knew how to joke and have fun. He was also the best Rockstar character because there was less of a disconnect between his actions and attitude. Plus, he was a badass cowboy.

I gotta say, CL4P-TP gets REALLY old REALLY quick and REALLY annoying after more than 5 minutes of exposure... I wouldn't put him on there. He was great through most of the first Borderlands but.... as a character he lost his luster.
  • JohnNewby - April 26, 2014 8:32 p.m.

I completely agree. I loved the different Claptrap models in the first Borderlands, but I hated him in Borderlands 2. My wife and I are replaying the first Borderlands for the 6th time, and that little bastard is just as charming as he was the first time.

Okay so first, No Max Payne is a travesty. Second, love how you guys put John Marston Fifth, when if you quickly read your review.... http://www.gamesradar.com/red-dead-redemption-review/ Way to know your own content.
