Microsoft shows off Smart Glass at E3 press conference

They showed off a number of examples for both TV, movies, and Internet Explorer. During an episode of Game of Thrones, Microsoft showed how Smart Glass can bring you additional features to liven up the experience.

In the GoT example, a map of Westeros was shown with diagrams indicating what was going on in the world at all times. So you could get a visual look at the state of the world, and the locations of the characters. Outside of that example, they didn't show anything about how it might work with others shows/movies.

For video games, they showed a player customizing a Madden receiver route on the fly, then actually controlling the game with a tablet device.

And finally, they showed a demo of a user controlling the new Internet Explorer app with a smartphone touchscreen, ostensibly making it simpler to control the interface. We'll have to see it for ourselves, but at first glance it looks like an intriguing way to make console browsers not-completely-useless. Which is truly an outstanding feat.

This story is still breaking, so check back in the coming minutes for more E3 news.
