Animal Crossing: New Leaf is coming on June 9 to North America and June 14 to Europe, according to today's Nintendo Direct. The 3DS version of the quirky community-building series will arrive just in time to spend the summer months inside ruling over dozens of furry friends.
Players will step in as mayor (this doesn't sound good for Tortimer) and decide how their town should expand. New Leaf will feature even more customization options than before, and players will be able to show off their remodeled homes via Street Pass.
Apparently some special online features will be implemented in the versions of the game released outside of Japan, though Nintendo wasn't ready to talk about them yet.
