Allison Road creator says it's back in development after parting with publisher

Just when you thought it was safe to walk down the hallway, Allison Road has returned. The P.T.-inspired horror game was canceled back in June, but creator Christian Kesler announced on Facebook today that he's returned to the project despite parting ways with former publisher Team 17.

After announcing its cancellation, Kesler said he spent some time away from Allison Road. When he returned, he "started making a few changes to the story, a few scribbles here and there, some layout tests and before [he] knew it it sort of organically picked up pace." He thanked fans for sticking with the project months after its apparent demise and promised more frequent updates in the future. Though he did note that - given how it's back to just him working on the game all by himself - "this might take a while".

We'll see if Allison Road returns to Kickstarter or similar crowdfunding platforms; its first campaign was canceled when Team 17 picked up the project. However Kesler manages it, hopefully he takes all the time he needs to deliver on the promise of that freaky first demo (and the truly dead-and-gone P.T./Silent Hills).

Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
