Gamers using Xbox Live might find themselves bombarded by advertising if Microsoft carries out plans to enhance its web advertising income, which could see the company selling space to advertisers wanting to reach the massive amount of online gamers.
In an attempt to capitalise on its huge user base, Microsoft has created adCenter - a system to flog adverts on search results, Microsoft related sites and even 'online Xbox games', according to an article by Reuters.
When contacted, Microsoft declined to comment on speculation. However, with Xbox and Xbox 360 heavily marketed as the choice for gamers, it'd be daft for Microsoft to intrude on your gaming experience with any kind of ill-advised in-game advertising. Lets hope the bigwigs feel the same way.
