The relative short length of the demo doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of story info packed into it. Although it's tough to stop and smell the underwater roses with everything falling apart around you and twisted enemies spraying bullets from every crevice of a city they know much better than you, here are a few more moments you may not have noticed the first time through the demo:
Hidden Tapes
Did you have any idea why all the Splicers are wearing masks? Why there are bottles of booze all over the place? Who peppered every area with party hats? No, Andrew Ryan didn't build his city because he liked costume parties. Be sure you listen to every tape recording you find and you might get some answers. One particularly informative tape comes from a woman named Diane McClintock, and can be found in the lower floor of the Kashmir restaurant. The other is from a man named Steve Parker, and is in the top floor of the same restaurant.
Hack the Security Camera
Hacking into one of the security bots floating around the transit hub is pretty helpful, if you can hack a stationary turret without it putting a few dozen rounds into you, it's even better. The real fun, however, begins when you hack into a security camera. There's one as you enter the Transit Hub, before you drop down the short waterfall. If you can manage to get behind it without being seen, it should be no problem to hack. Having it turn the security systems against any Splicers it spots adds some sweet satisfaction to the last section of the demo.
Atlas and Johnny
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
Your friend Atlas (the guy on the short-range radio) is doing his best to keep you alive, but you aren't the first person he's tried to help out. It's easy to miss the first time he speaks. As you approach the docking bay in the bathysphere, you can actually hear him talking. If you aren't too entranced by the lights of the bay and dark passageway ahead, you'll hear him and his (former) friend, Johnny, who doesn't fare quite as well as we hope you do.
Ok, so once you've done all this, you still can't wait to play the game. We know it's tough but it's only a few more days. In the meantime, get the inside scoop onplasmid strategy, check out ourexclusive videoshowcasing the combat system and,if you you don't mind spoilers, check out our in-depth analysis ofevery secretin Rapture.
