You are not ready for Microsoft's penis-joking, drug referencing, old-school rave tribute to software developers

That headline is no exaggeration. I'm not dressing this up to sound weirder or cooler than it actually is. You might not believe that I'm not embellishing this story in any way, but I'm honestly not. What I describe above is exactly what you're about to witness, and what you're about to witness is going to blow your mind.

Created (presumably) as a joke for Microsoft's Windows Azure presentation at the recent Norwegian Developers' Conference, the above track is quite frankly one of the most perfect things I've ever witnessed. It paints software development as one of the coolest, most high-energy counter-culture pastimes available. It blends coding terminology with drug-based acronyms. It makes a "Microsoft" joke regarding the optimally potent state of the male genitalia. It is, put plainly, one of the most rock-and-roll things ever to come out of a discussion of software creation practices.

In fact the only disappointing thing about it is that having run this brilliant in-joke, Microsoft back-pedalled and apologised for the "vulgar" and "inappropriate" routine after footage became public, and is apparently now investigating. What happened to you, MS? You use to be cool. Well you were for the duration of this routine, anyway.

Altogether now: "I'm a software developer, and the words "Micro" and "Soft" don't apply to my penis (or vagina)"
