Xbox One rumoured to support remote play, Siri-like features

Xbox One will enable users to assume control of gameplay remotely in order to help friends through challenging sections of a title, while Kinect will have the capability to talk back to users, according to Polygon sources said to have tested or seen the unannounced features in action.

The remote play feature is reportedly fully functional, with a demonstration showing player one receive a message over Skype from player two, asking if they were happy for their friend to take control of the game. Player one was then able to watch player two working through player one's game, and either of the pair was able to end the remote play session with a simple button press. Sony said during its PS4 reveal that it will use Gaikai to power a similar remote play feature.

Xbox One’s second-gen Kinect sensor is said to be capable of supporting two-way conversations, allowing it to function in a manner similar to iPhone's Siri. Polygon’s sources claim the functionality may not be present at launch, but that if it isn't, it will be added in a patch released within the console's first few months of availability.

In a statement issued to the site, Microsoft said: "In the days since we announced Xbox One there has been a lot of random speculation about various features and potential future scenarios for Xbox One. We look forward to sharing more details at a later date, but aren't discussing anything further at this time."
