PlayStation 4 game prices range from 99 cents to $60 according to Tretton

Those with worries that next-gen game pricing will see a hike might be able to breathe a sigh of relief. According to comments made by Sony Computer Entertainment of America CEO Jack Tretton, the top end of AAA game pricing doesn't currently look set for an increase with the advent of the PS4.

Sony's new console, announced on Wednesday (all details right here) should have a wider spread of game pricing models lower down though, with Tretton referencing an overall pricing spread from 99 cents to $60.

Add the PS4's vaunted openness to free-to-play gaming and you have a theoretical range of 0 - $60. While these numbers aren't likely 100% official or completely set in stone at the moment, it seems that something rather similar to the current norm is certainly within Sony's general thinking, whatever inflated pre-order prices some online retailers might currently be touting.
