Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt to head up space-set Passengers

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt may have found their next project, with Variety and The Wrap reporting that the pair are in early talks to star in space movie, Passengers.

The film had initially been scheduled to open this coming March, only for the Weinstein Company to pull the plug, and leading lady Rachel McAdams to jump ship in the process.

However, it now looks as though the wheels are back in motion on the project, with a script in place from John Spaihts and Morten Tyldum currently in negotiations to fill the director’s chair.

Set in the future, the film takes place aboard a spacecraft heading to a far-flung planet, when one of the crew accidentally awakens from cryo-sleep 90 years early. Rather than sit it out on his own, he decides to wake up a female crew-member, and romance begins to blossom between the pair.

Talks are apparently at a very early stage, but based on that synopsis, we’d love to see Pratt and Lawrence in the leading roles. Talk about charisma to burn…
