Disney Interactive reportedly laid off about 50 employees from several locations on the same day that it shut Junction Point.
That’s according to an unnamed LA Times source who claims the cuts were separate to those which resulted from the closure of the Epic Mickey studio.
Referring to Junction Point’s closure, Disney said earlier this week: “These changes are part of our ongoing effort to address the fast-evolving gaming platforms and marketplace and to align resources against our key priorities.”
The company now appears likely to focus its game-related efforts on the recently revealed Disney Infinity project, which is expected to ship sometime in June 2013.
Disney Infinity is an upcoming open world sandbox game featuring characters from Disney and Pixar movies and TV shows. Get our first look impressions in this Disney Infinity preview.
