The Sidekick: Both a foil and a friend to little mermaid Ariel, Sebastian's a crab whose main loyalties lie with King Triton - but when he gets caught up in one of Ariel's adventures, he's duty-bound to help.
Most Charming Moment: "You are hopeless, child," Sebastian coos affectionately. "Completely hopeless."
Joseph 'Blue' Pulaski - Old School (2003)
The Sidekick: An 89-year-old fratboy, Blue (Pat Cranshaw) is an unashamed scene-stealer, whether he's (thinking about) wrestling topless girls or playing the piano in heaven.
Most Charming Moment: Well, he dies when he comes face-to-face with those topless girls. Whoops.
Jiminy Cricket - Pinocchio (1940)
The Sidekick: Well, he's a grasshopper. But he's also the conscience of little wooden boy Pinocchio, sent to keep watch over the puppet as he attempts to prove his worth and become a real boy.
Most Charming Moment: Jiminy Cricket attempts to sleep, but he can't because the workshop is just SO LOUD.
Spock - Star Trek (2009-2013)
The Sidekick: Possessor of the most logical mind you'll ever meet, though even Spock (Zachary Quinto) has his off day. He's the perfect sidekick/sparring partner for cocky old Kirk (Chris Pine).
Most Charming Moment: That has to go to Spock Prime (Leonard Nimoy) when he tells Kirk: "Live long and prosper." Simply for the chill factor.
Rocco - The Boondock Saints (1999)
The Sidekick: He looks gormless and in need of a shave, but this guy's the shizzle when it comes to hunting bad guys. He's brought in by Connor and Murphy McManus to help them clean up the Boston streets.
Most Charming Moment: "I killed your cat you druggie bitch!" Rocco admits in the middle of a rant. "I thought it would bring closure to our relationship."
Tuco - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (1966)
The Sidekick: A mean criminal with a wicked grin and even wickeder skill with a firearm. He teams up with Blondie (Clint Eastwood) in the hunt for hidden gold. And though he's mean, he comes out with stellar quips.
Most Charming Moment : These wise words: "There are two kinds of people in the world, my friend: Those with a rope around the neck, and the people who have the job of doing the cutting."
Gromit - Curse Of The Were-Rabbit (2005)
The Sidekick: The mute but super-expressive best friend of inventor Wallace.
He's also a pooch with serious smarts, getting Wallace out of numerous close shaves - despite his owner's utter obliviousness.
Most Charming Moment: Pulling the strings of a giant female were-rabbit, Gromit's told to be "more alluring". Which he manages with aplomb.
Pedro Sanchez - Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
The Sidekick: Seems highly-medicated, but that doesn't stop new Mexican student Pedro from helping Napoleon out with some sound, gently-delivered advice.
Most Charming Moment: "Do you think it's kinda warm in here?" Pedro asks when he notices some rather lovely ladies in the school hall. Bless.
Cal Naughton - Talladega Nights (2006)
The Sidekick: Also known as The Magic Man because he's so good behind a wheel, Cal's the co-pilot of other racecar driver Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell).
Most Charming Moment : “I like to think of Jesus as wearin' a Tuxedo T-shirt,” says Cal, “’cause it says, like, ‘I want to be formal, but I'm here to party too.’ I like to party, so I like my Jesus to party.”
