50 Greatest Bond Villains

Gustav Graves
The Villain: OTT British tycoon in Die Another Day who apparently appears from nowhere… probably because he's really mad Korean Colonel Moon after one gene therapy session too many.
Most Evil Moment: Turning a friendly fencing duel with Bond into a life-or-death scrap by swapping his epee for something more lethal.

General Anatol Gogol
The Villain: As head of the KGB, Gogol is the Soviet equivalent of M - not so much a villain as a competitor during 007's Cold War tussles between The Spy Who Loved Me and The Living Daylights .
Most Evil Moment: Gogol is usually an observer, and strangely respectful to Bond - but you have to wonder about the sanity of someone who trained Max Zorin.

Gobinda
The Villain: Kamal Khan's turban-wearing manservant in Octopussy - the strong, silent type who'd much rather crush dice with his bare hands than enter into meaningful dialogue.
Most Evil Moment: Hunting Bond through the Indian jungle with a blunderbuss.

Naomi
The Villain: Karl Stromberg's assistant in The Spy Who Loved Me , originally tasked with transport Bond to the villain's lair but later required to try and kill him.
Most Evil Moment: Piloting a helicopter, Naomi deploys a range of on-board gadgets to attack Bond's Lotus… but 007's car has surprises of its own.

Milton Krest
The Villain: Weaselly American frontman for Franz Sanchez's drug business in Licence To Kill , who Bond uses as a patsy so he can ingratiate himself with Sanchez.
Most Evil Moment: Krest sends a small army after Bond when the latter breaks into his ship, the Wavekrest.

Steven Obanno

Most Evil Moment: Trying to take out his frustrations on Bond with a machete.

Baron Samedi
The Villain: As Dr Kananga's voodoo advisor in Live And Let Die , Samedi uses ritual sacrifices to hold San Monique in the grip of fear.
Most Evil Moment: Despite Bond throwing him into a coffin of snakes, the final shot suggests his voodoo magic has made him IMPOSSIBLE TO KILL.

Mischka and Grischska
The Villains: Circus performing twins whose knife-throwing prowess makes them useful as assassins for Kamal Khan in Octopussy .
Most Evil Moment: Cutting 009 down after a woodland chase in Berlin, not even giving the British agent the dignity of changing out of his clown disguise first.

Nick Nack
The Villain: Loyal manservant of Scaramanga in The Man With The Golden Gun , who proves very useful in getting into those hard-to-reach places due to his diminutive size.
Most Evil Moment: Attacking Bond and Holly Goodhead even after Scaramanga has been killed. His punishment: being locked in a suitcase.

Elliot Carver
The Villain: Newspaper baron in Tomorrow Never Dies whose lust to be on top of the news leads to him engineering a war for exclusive media rights. Any resemblance to Rupert Murdoch is coincidental, honest.
Most Evil Moment: Ordering the death of his wife.

Bambi And Thumper
The Villain: Incredibly limber female bodyguards hired to watch Willard Whyte in Diamonds Are Forever . The names might sound nice, but these two are brutal.
Most Evil Moment: Bond is too chivalrous to hit women, but that doesn't stop them from giving him a right pasting.

General Georgi Koskov
The Villain: Double-double-agent, who uses the Cold War as a front to play off Brits against Soviets while he makes a killing from racketeering in The Living Daylights .
Most Evil Moment: To be honest, he slimes his way out of overt violence, preferring to leave that to henchman Necros.

Dominic Greene
The Villain: Lizardy Quantum operator, embroiled in a plot to divert Bolivia's water supplies onto apparently worthless land so he can pick up the rights for a song in Quantum Of Solace .
Most Evil Moment: Giving up Camille Montes to rapist general Medrano. Yes, it what's she wants (she's trying to kill Medrano) but Greene doesn't know that.

Most Evil Moment: Orchestrating a dune buggy raid to murder the Countess Lisl.

Emilio Largo

Most Evil Moment: Largo deals with insubordination of surgically-altered henchman Angel Palazzi by cut his air supply and leaving him to drown.

The Villain: Assassin planted by Renard as Sir Robert King's assistant, as part of Elektra King's fiendish plans in The World Is Not Enough .
Most Evil Moment: Blowing up her boss, and destroying half of MI6 with it.

Mollaka
The Villain: Bombmaker hired to destroy the Skyfleet aeroplane in Casino Royale … but who never gets the chance because Bond's on the case.
Most Evil Moment: 007 stops him before he does anything evil, but he's here for making Bond suffer a punishing workout in (and above) Madagascar.

Aristotle Kristatos
The Villain: On the surface, a WWII hero. Underneath, a Nazi double agent and smuggler hoping to make a quick buck selling a British submarine encoder to the Soviet Union in For Your Eyes Only .
Most Evil Moment: Never mind the murder and extortion, Kristatos is creepily fixated on grooming teenage ice skater Bibi Dahl.

Brad Whitaker
The Villain: War-obsessed arms dealer in The Living Daylights who fancies himself as a Caesar, but really is just a grubby heroin smuggler.
Most Evil Moment: Inviting Bond into his "war room," a deadly museum rigged with working armaments.

General Orlov
The Villain: Old-school Soviet, seen in Octopussy , who hates détente and wants a return to the pre-nuclear age so he can roll his tanks across Europe to take over the world.
Most Evil Moment: Orlov's barking-mad scheme involves setting off a nuclear bomb in the belief it'll upset America and Russia enough to disarm. That's one hell of an assumption.

Pussy Galore
The Villain: Personal pilot of Auric Goldfinger, and an instrumental part of Operation Grand Slam. Only catch? Her chilly attitude to men is about to be heated up by one Mr James Bond, Esq.
Most Evil Moment: Since she swaps sides and basically saves the day by not gassing everyone at Fort Knox, we'll never know.

Dario
The Villain: The then-unknown Benecio Del Toro made Dario, a protégé of Franz Sanchez in Licence To Kill and one of the nastiest psychos in the Bond series.
Most Evil Moment: Butchering Felix Leiter's wife, Della, on Sanchez's orders.

Tee-Hee
The Villain: Dr Kananga's henchman in Live And Let Die , made all the more menacing because he's replaced the arm lost to a crocodile bite with a fierce-looking metal prosthetic.
Most Evil Moment: Abandoning Bond on an island full of crocodiles.

Kamal Khan
The Villain: Indian royal renegade who maintains his lavish lifestyle by masterminding Octopussy 's smuggling ring, but who has his eye on a bigger prize by assisting mad Soviet General Orlov in starting World War Three.

Most Evil Moment: Attacking an MI6 safe house armed with explosive milk bottles.

Mr White
The Villain: Facilitator for Quantum, whose presence in both Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace has stitched together the threads of the Daniel Craig era to date.
Most Evil Moment: Persuading Vesper Lynd to betray Bond and nearly getting M killed - not bad going for a guy who is supposed to be behind the scenes.

Renard
The Villain: Soviet terrorist in The World Is Not Enough who is slowly being killed by a bullet lodged in his brain, which also makes him impervious to pain.
Most Evil Moment: Tricking the audience into thinking he's the main villain when he's really just a glorified henchman.

May Day
The Villain: Max Zorin's right-hand woman in A View To A Kill , employed for her physical strength and androgynous 1980s glamour.
Most Evil Moment: She loses marks for switching sides at the end, but still - killing a guy with a paper butterfly takes some doing.

Most Evil Moment: Assassinating Bond's wife, Tracy di Vicenzo. Sob.

Most Evil Moment: Trying to kill Bond with a harpoon gun hidden under his deadly dining table.

Dr Kaufman
The Villain: German hitman in Tomorrow Never Dies who uses forensic science to fake victims' suicides (he's "especially good at the celebrity overdose"). He also does torture, "this is more like a hobby... but I am very gifted."
Most Evil Moment: Murdering Paris Carver as part of a planned fake suicide pact between her and Bond.

Sir Hugo Drax
The Villain: Space exploration pioneer whose Moonraker rockets have a hidden purpose - he's planning to create a master race of perfect humans in space, from where he'll destroy life on Earth.
Most Evil Moment: Setting killer dogs on Corinne Dufour after she's been seduced by Bond.

Mr Wint And Mr Kidd
The Villain: Dandyish killers, very much in love, who wreak a trail of havoc throughout Diamonds Are Forever .
Most Evil Moment: Dropping a scorpion down a man's back. Ouch.

Fiona Volpe
The Villain: A specialist in the 'seduce and destroy' category of Bond villainy, this voluptuous SPECTRE agent uses her assets to trick people into helping Emilio Largo steal a nuclear warhead in Thunderball .
Most Evil Moment: When Blofeld orders fellow SPECTRE agent Count Lippe to be terminated, Volpe blows up his car with a missile fired from her motorbike.

Dr Kananga
The Villain: Dictator of Caribbean island San Monique in Live And Let Die who, disguised as drug lord Mr Big, is flooding America with free heroin in order to achieve a monopoly.

Elektra King
The Villain: Oil heiress who turns to the dark side after being kidnapped by Renard in The World Is Not Enough , and now uses her cover as a target to destroy a rival oil pipeline.
Most Evil Moment: Kidnapping M. Really, that's just not on.

Max Zorin
The Villain: Created by Nazi experimentation, trained by the KGB… it's no wonder Zorin is an absolute nutcase, hell-bent on flooding Silicon Valley in A View To A Kill .
Most Evil Moment: The 'staircase to the sky' in his zeppelin outdoes even SPECTRE for a nasty way to tie up loose ends.

Xenia Onatopp
The Villain: Alec Trevelyan's partner-in-crime in Goldeneye is a post-feminist warrior for the 'Girl Power' era, living life as fast and loose as Bond himself.
Most Evil Moment: One of the most distinctive methods of assassination seen in a Bond film, crushing Admiral Farrel to death between her thighs during sex.

Francisco Scaramanga
The Villain: Three-nippled killer, who won't get out of bed for less than one million dollars and who prefers to use a very specific kind of weapon - hence, The Man With The Golden Gun .
Most Evil Moment: Setting mobster target Rodney loose in his bespoke 'funhouse,' where Scaramanga can torment his prey before executing him.

Franz Sanchez
The Villain: A far cry from the usual flamboyant megalomaniacs, Licence To Kill 's big bad Sanchez is a very 1980s villain - a blunt, brutal drug dealer who just wants to get rich and will kill whoever gets in the way.
Most Evil Moment: Ordinarily, cutting out the heart of a love rival or feeding Felix Leiter to the sharks would 'win' this, but Sanchez trumps it by making Milton Krest's head explode in a decompression chamber.

Vesper Lynd
The Villain: Is Vesper a villain? She loves Bond, and actually saves his life… but circumstances have forced her to become a turncoat in a character-defining betrayal of 007.
Most Evil Moment: Stealing the money from Casino Royale for Quantum.

Red Grant
The Villain: Robert Shaw made his mark on From Russia With Love as the SPECTRE agent pretending to be an MI6 agent, in order to kill Bond. But Grant forgot that no English gent would ever drink red wine with fish.
Most Evil Moment: He might lose his dust-up with Bond aboard the Orient Express, but the pummelling he metes out to 007 represents the first time that anybody's really come close to beating him.

Rosa Klebb
The Villain: Stern harridan who defects from Soviet-controlled SMERSH to become SPECTRE's Number 3, in which capacity she runs the plot to discredit and kill 007 in I.
Most Evil Moment: Getting stab happy with her dancing shoes.

Le Chiffre
The Villain: Money launderer allied to Quantum, who makes one gamble too many and finds himself desperate to win the tournament at Casino Royale . No wonder he weeps blood.
Most Evil Moment: Torturing Bond by whipping him in the balls with a rope.

Dr No
The Villain: SPECTRE agent who defined the look and feel for all future Bond villains, with his custom-fitted base (in Crab Key, Jamaica) and eye-catching disability (metal hands). All he lacks is a decent masterplan - compared to future adversaries, disrupting a few rocket launches is minor league villainy.
Most Evil Moment: Inviting Bond to dinner and then having minions cart 007 away when he refuses to switch sides.

Oddjob
The Villain: Goldfinger 's butler, built like a shit brickhouse but able to kill from his distance thanks to his proficiency in throwing his steel-rimmed-hat.
Most Evil Moment: Reluctant mobster Mr Solo reckons he's got away from Goldfinger but, as his chauffeur, Oddjob is well placed to shoot Solo and then have his corpse crushed inside the car.

Alec Trevelyan
The Villain: As leader of the Janus crime syndicate, Trevelyan is literally "two-faced" - as 006, he's a friend and colleague of Bond, but really he's out to rob Britain blind using Goldeneye technology.
Most Evil Moment: Betraying Bond is high on the list of worst things that anybody has done in the films.

Auric Goldfinger
The Villain: He loves gold! Well, of course he does, with a name like that. But he also loves homicidal butlers, cheating at gold, revealing his plans to people just before he kills them.
Most Evil Moment: Rigging 007 up to an elaborate testicular torture device, simply because he expects Bond to die!

Jaws
The Villain: Played by seven-foot-tall Richard Kiel, Jaws matches his imposing height with one hell of a bite thanks to his metal teeth. So cool he survived The Spy Who Loved Me for a rematch in Moonraker , he's the ultimate Bond henchman, at least until he finds love.
Most Evil Moment: Hired to steal essential microfilm by Karl Stromberg, Jaws bites the film's owner, Max Kalba, to death.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld
The Villain: As the scar-faced, cat-stroking mastermind behind SPECTRE's operations, Blofeld is the ultimate Bond baddie. He's only prevented from a rematch by pesky rights issues.
Most Evil Moment: For fiendish ingenuity, his plot in On Her Majesty's Secret Service to use brainwashed beauties hell-bent on destroying the world's agriculture with bioweapons is hard to beat.
