This is why Wonder Woman's invisible jet isn't in the movie

Wonder Woman fans around the world were gutted to hear that the superhero's invisible jet wouldn't be making it into her solo movie. Amongst the many, MANY jokes of 'Well, you wouldn't see it anyway, would you?' was the question, why? Who wouldn't want a see through form of transport, right?

Well, we now know the answer because when director Patty Jenkins turned up at San Diego Comic Con, that was one of the fan questions she had put to her during Wonder Woman's Hall H panel. "The invisible jet is not in this movie, but it might be in the future." The director said. "It [the movie] takes place in such an early period that it wouldn’t have been the jet we want."

Basically, Wonder Woman didn't start her superhero career with every single accessory/costume/jet at her finger tips, and as the movie is very much an origins story, it makes sense that she wouldn't need the invisible jet until later. Who does she need to fly away/hide from on Themyscira anyway?

Interestingly, the fan who asked the question actually said: "Do you fly or do we get the plane?" And when Patty answered, she swiftly dodged the flying aspect of the question saying: "Well, we cannot talk… although they have released that the invisible jet is not in this movie”. Was that her way of saying she can't talk about whether Wonder Woman will fly? That would be a cool alternative.

Directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Lucy Davis, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, and Saïd Taghmaoui, Wonder Woman will open in cinemas on June 23, 2017.
