Think The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn transposed to rural Luxembourg, as adolescent siblings Zak and Seth (Zacharie Chasseriaud and Martin Nissen) and their pal Dany (Paul Bartel) are left one summer to fend for themselves in the absence of their parents.

Writer/Director Bouli Lanners makes effective use of a string of fairytale settings (woods, rivers, spooky houses) in this atmospheric coming-of-age yarn.

Nothing too surprising happens, but the Benelux countryside is lushly lensed and there’s an enjoyably melancholic score from Belgian folkster The Bony King Of Nowhere.
