I highly recommend these Warhammer 40K Battleforces if you want a new army for Christmas, and they're $37 off right now

The merriest season of all is on the march, so that means Warhammer 40K Battleforces and Age of Sigmar army boxes can't be far behind. It isn't just the headcount that's large for these sets; they usually rack up quite a sizable cost as well. Not today, though.

So long as you're quick, you can snatch up many of the Warhammer 40K Battleforces (not to mention those lovely Age of Sigmar equivalents) for around 20% less than normal via indie retailers like Miniature Market in the US and Wayland Games in the UK. Considering how many of these have already sold out in both regions, I have a suspicion they won't last until next week's Black Friday Warhammer deals. The Space Marine version is long gone, for example, as is the very gothic Soulblight Gravelords pack with Prince Vhordrai on an undead dragon.

Save $37 - Christmastime always brings a new wave of Battleforces with it, and 2025 is no different. This year's charge is led by the Blissbound Warband, an Emperor's Children army featuring Fulgrim himself, Noise Marines, and Flawless Blades. It's a solid foundation upon which to build an army, and I don't think you'll be able to get it for much less.

Buy it if:
✅ You're itching for a new army
✅ You're keen to collect Emperor's Children

Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd rather grab a Combat Patrol instead

Warhammer 40K Astra Militarum Battleforce | $250 $212.99 at Miniature Market
Save $37 - I've argued before that you'd struggle to find a 'more 40K' army than the Death Korps of Krieg, and if you're also taken in by their oh-so-grimdark design, you can muster an army with this reduced Battleforce. I've already seen this sell out at certain stores in the UK, so I wouldn't wait for too long if you were tempted.

✅ You're drawn to that grimdark aesthetic

Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd rather get a different Battleforce

Save $37 - If I was going to choose any of these boxes for myself, it'd be the Chaos one. I'm a longtime Chaos Space Marine fan but haven't got an army for the current edition, and this looks like a mighty fine way to kick things off in 2025/2026. Someone hold me back.

✅ You appreciate the Dark Powers

❌ You're a goody two-shoes

Save $37 - If you're partial to the idea of axe-swinging fantasy dwarves in space, it's worth considering this discount on the Leagues of Votann box set. Sure, it's not loads of money off. But that's far better than you're likely to find elsewhere, and it's only available while stocks last.

Buy it if:
✅ You're up for a new army
✅ You enjoy the idea of space prospectors

Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd rather get Space Marines, thank you very much

Save $37 - The ratman of the Mortal Realms are descending en masse in this Battleforce, and I've yet to find it for less online. If you missed out on Skaventide or those starter sets, it's a good jumping off point for a larger force.

✅ You like Skaven, yes-yes

❌ You'd prefer to start small

Save $37 - If you've always been drawn to the woodland realm factions in wargaming and fantasy RPGs, the Sylvaneth Battleforce might be for you. It's essentially a band of very pissy Ents and dryads looking to throw hands.

Buy it if:
✅ You're eager to start a new army
✅ You like the idea of a nature-based force

Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd prefer wood elves, tbh

As mentioned above, I think I'd probably go for the Chaos Space Marines Battleforce because my heart belongs to 40K's Ruinous Powers but I've yet to build an army for it in the current edition. The heroes included aren't just your bog-standard Chaos champions, either; they're eminently creepy riding that spider-like mech.

As for Age of Sigmar, I'm actually quite keen on those trolls. There's something wonderfully whimsical about the Warhammer versions, and they'd be a blast to paint with wild and whacky colors.

Anyway, I wouldn't wait long no matter what you like the look of. Loads of these boxes have already sold out in both the US and UK, so I doubt the rest will last long.
