Hollywood’s great and good will be shifting uncomfortably in their seats once more this awards season, as Ricky Gervais has been confirmed to the host the Golden Globes once again. The 2016 ceremony will mark the comedian’s fourth time at the helm, having hosted the awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
If you need to be reminded of how funny/awkward/shocking Gervais has been in the past, watch 2012's opening monologue below...
The gig had first been offered to the hosting double-act of the last three years, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, but the duo have turned it down so as to avoid over-staying their welcome. As a result, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has turned to their predecessor, Gervais, who has agreed to return after a three-year hiatus.
The Golden Globes will take place on January 10 2016, and from the looks of his Twitter feed, Ricky Gervais is already getting ready...

Can't wait to host The Golden Globes again. My only guarantee is that not everyone will enjoy it as much as me. pic.twitter.com/oqOO8KnyLVOctober 27, 2015
