Persona 3 Reload introduces its colorful cast of heroes

Persona 3 Reload is home to a colorful cast of characters, each with their own absorbing personalities that’ll make you remember them way after you’ve put the controller down. At their head is the protagonist, wielding the ability to control various Personas, including Orpheus. The bonds the protagonist makes and deepens with his friends around school enhance their journey through the murky depths of Tartarus, so maintaining social links is of paramount importance.

One of their earliest friends at Gekkokan High is Yukari Takeba, a cool and unyielding persona-wielder. Yukari might be a little reserved at first, especially towards classmate Junpei Iori, but they’re a dab hand in the heat of battle with their deadly bow and fearsome wind-powered persona Io.

Junpei is a jokester and a bit of a goofy comic relief - he is the first one to the front line with his huge sword and takes full swings at his enemies. The protagonist's life can't start without Junpei running up to him after class and hanging out with him.

Akihiko Sanada is one of our senpais in Persona 3 Reload, but just looking at him can tell you that. The boxer can hold his own against any monstrous foe in Tartarus, and he’s as much a steadying hand on the battlefield as he is in the protagonist’s personal life at school. You can always rely on Akihiko and his personal Polydeuces with its fearsome electrical attacks.

Joining Akihiko as our second senpai is Mitsuru Kirijo, leader of the S.E.E.S. team and student council president. Mitsuru is stoic and honourable, bringing her sleek rapier and powerful persona Penthesilea with its ice-based attacks to bear in battle, and that’s why she commands the respect and adoration of everyone around her.

If you’ve met Futaba in Persona 5, you’ll immediately recognise Fuuka Yamagishi as the group’s navigator in Persona 3 Reload. Fuuka isn’t suited to combat so instead guides the group from behind the scenes while they navigate Tartarus. Make no mistake though - Fuuka is an invaluable member of S.E.E.S., and deepening your bond with her will hasten your adventure around the towering dungeon.

Koromaru is Persona 3 Reload’s goodest boy, and he can take up a lethal stance in combat and strike out with his knife and persona Cerberus, the hound of hell. Koromaru is just as vital outside of combat - you can chill and watch TV with the loyal companion, or help the citizens of Iwatodai rescue missing pets.

Enter Aigis: our robotic companion and most mysterious member of S.E.E.S. Uncovering Aigis’s origins and her story is an enticing mystery in Persona 3 Reload, and the hilarious antics she inadvertently puts herself in are the icing on the cake. Her persona Palladion transforms her into a bulletproof tank that can take on even the heaviest damage, perfect for soaking up damage from Shadows.

Attached at the hip to Koromaru is Ken Amada, our youngest member of S.E.E.S. Ken’s persona Nemesis puts up a tough front against physical attacks, and with his ferocious polearm attacks, he’s constantly striving to reach the heights of his peers. Ken is the positive beating heart of Persona 3 Reload, and with Koromaru by his side, you’ll instantly be rooting for him.

Rounding out the S.E.E.S. is Shinjiro Aragaki, our gruff lone wolf. He’s an absolute beast on the battlefield with heavy physical attacks, and his high health and resistance to basically all elements means he’s a party member of paramount importance. Shinji gives the impression of being quiet and blunt, but this delinquent has the fearless heart of a warrior ready to fight to the death for his friends when push comes to shove.

Persona 3 Reload’s cast are just as welcoming today as they were back in 2006, and each one has a crucial role to play both in the fight against Shadows and in our daily lives around Gekkokan High.
