This area's a bit annoying, but considerably easier. All you need to do is make it through the water to the area where the big red button awaits. Complicating this objective are two zombie archers that love to impede your progress by shooting at you from afar. If you simply run quickly along the surface of the water in a weaving pattern, it shouldn't be too tough. Press the button, then hop back into the water and dive beneath the surface. Underneath the platform where you pushed the button lays yet another Golden Scarab.

Having tripped the two triggers, the door that was locked before is now open. Return to the previous chamber and proceed through it. Here you will find... the Chapter 6 boss. Yup, it's no different than last time. Use the same tactics as before and you should have absolutely no problems. The reward for your calamari preparation skills this time is another Lives of the Thousand Gods. Put it to immediate use. Walls will also move into place that will allow you to do a repeated wall-jump to the top of the room where the suspension bridge used to be. Now you can finally proceed through here.

On a nearby throne is a curious gem: The Jewel of the Demon Seal. Take it and use it on your favorite Ninpo skill to increase its potency. (You'll be getting another Ninpo very soon, however, so you might opt to save it until then.) Press onwards, saving at the Dragon Statue along the way. As you trek downwards, you'll come across yet another enemy-infested area. Clear them out to open up the path to the next room. Another fallen ninja rests here - examine him to get a new Ninpo: the Art of the Ice Storm.

Keep moving along to another new area - a sort of burial chamber. There are a lot of bats here, which means lots of free essence and life. There also seems to be something of interest on the other side of the room, but if you approach it, it moves out of your reach, and you'll need to backtrack and push a button to reset it. To get to it, you'll need to go to the left side of the chamber, then wall-run across to reach a hanging platform. Press the button here to disable the mechanism, then drop down and approach the sarcophagus. Here, you'll receive a statue of a wolf god, along with the Skull Key. Use the skull key to open the door on the right side of the room. After hacking down another swarm of bats, you'll find yourself in a water-filled room. Take some time to dive underwater a bit here - there's a Golden Scarab on the floor, as well as a Muramasa statue you can use. You'll want to make sure you are as well-stocked as possible with recovery items and weaponry, since you're going to endure a very, very tough boss fight in just a few minutes. There's also an underwater elevator, but don't take it just yet - instead, look for an underwater passage leading into another small room. Swim into and through it to find a Dragon Statue with which to save your game. Be sure to do so!

Now you can return to the previous area and enter the underwater elevator. This will take you back to the upper part of the Monastery, where you got the Book of the Eons before. A few members of the Black Spider Clan are waiting to ambush you, so be on the lookout - you really don't want to lose too much health before this next battle. There's another safe here with a Life of the Gods inside here, as well. To open it, move the lock right to #1, left to #4, right again to #1, and then left back to 0. Presto! Another shiny blue jewel is all yours.

If you want to go back and save after defeating the ninjas and cracking the safe, you are more than welcome to do so. Make absolutely sure you've got the supplies you'll need, then jump to the main hall of the monastery and approach the altar to face the toughest boss yet.
