Though his character's presence was certainly felt in The Bourne Legacy, Matt Damon will be back in earnest as Jason Bourne in the as yet untitled fifth Bourne movie. The highly anticipated summer 2016 release, which will reunite the star with The Bourne Superemacy and The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass, is currently filming in London and ComingSoon.net has some new action-packed set photos.
Damon has previously explained that the story will take place in a "...post-Snowden world. It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy."
Though Jeremy Renner did a solid enough job in The Bourne Legacy, it was an inferior instalment when compared to the original trilogy, so it's great to see Damon back in the fray and still looking the part. Of course, the burning question is after a pen, a magazine, and a book, what's the next item Bourne will find a use for? We'll find out when Bourne 5 - which stars Damon, Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones - opens in UK and US cinemas on July 29 2016.
