The Tokyo Game Show hasn't quite started yet, but Sony decided to get a head start by unveiling its new PlayStation 3 model. The new lighter, slimmer design will be available in two different models, including one containing a 250GB hard drive and another containing a 500GB hard drive. It will be 20% smaller and 25% lighter than the current PS3 and will come in black or white (in Japan.)

Sony also announced that the 250GB PS3 will be available in North America on September 25 for $269.99 as a limited edition bundle that includes Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and a $30 voucher in bonus digital content for DUST 514.

Those looking for the 500GB PS3, that model will be available in a limited edition bundle on October 30 to tie in with the release of Assassin's Creed III.
