Star Wars: Episode VII

Director: J.J. Abrams

Cast: TBC

Genre: Sci-Fi Epic

You may like
  • Dune 2 Upcoming movies: The most exciting new movies coming in 2026 and beyond
  • Billie Roy in Lee Cronin's The Mummy Upcoming horror movies coming in 2026 and beyond
  • Dune Movie release dates 2026: Every major film coming to cinemas and streaming

Plot: A teeny tiny, rather intimate arthouse movie. You've probably never heard of it. We'd be surprised if you even notice it when it's released.
Jokes.

The biggest sci-fi franchise on the planet returns with Episode VII , helmed by the man responsible for rejuvenating Star Trek , and a whole host of his original sci-fi/fantasy/action-y blockbusters. The only thing confirmed so far is the director, but with Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher all heavily rumoured to be reprising their roles, here's hoping the force is as strong as ever.

UK Release Date: 18 December 2015

Kung-Fu Panda 3 (3D)

You may like

  • Billie Roy in Lee Cronin's The Mummy Upcoming horror movies coming in 2026 and beyond
  • Dune Movie release dates 2026: Every major film coming to cinemas and streaming

Plot: Po and his gang of kung-fu kicking (and punching) heroes return for another Eastern adventure. Plot details are still under wraps, but with Rebel Wilson, Mads Mikkelsen and Bryan Cranston all joining the cast, Dreamworks look keen to continue their quality work to date.

UK Release Date: TBC

US Release Date: 23 December 2015

Mission: Impossible 5

Director: Christopher McQuarrie

Cast: Tom Cruise

Genre: Spy Adventure

Plot: Tom Cruise has signed on to produce and star in a fifth outing for Mission: Impossible's lady-wooing, explosion-loving Ethan Hunt. All we know so far - Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce is on board to scribble the no-doubt plot-twisty words, while Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie is on board to direct.

UK Release Date: 25 December 2015

US Release Date : 25 December 2015

The Crow (2015)

Director: F. Javier Gutierrez

Cast: Luke Evans

Genre: Supernatural Action

Plot: It's a brave team that take on one of the biggest cult movies of recent years. Even moreso considering the infamous tale behind the original, in which lead Brandon Lee was accidentally killed on the set back in 1994. The tale finds murdered rock star Eric Draven returning to life to wreak revenge upon his killers.

UK Release Date: 2015

US Release Date: 2015

London Has Fallen

No director confirmed yet, though we'd love to see Olympus helmer Antoine Fuqua back in the fold.

Rocketman

US Release Date : 2015

Chappie

Director: Neill Blomkamp

Cast: Hugh Jackman, Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel

Genre: Sci-Fi Comedy

Beverly Hills Cop 4

Director: Brett Ratner

Cast: Eddie Murphy

Genre: Action Comedy

Plot: Thanks to a successfully received TV pilot, Paramount obviously feel like there are enough legs in the wise-cracking, ass-kicking cop franchise to bring Eddie Murphy back for another bout of Axel Foley craziness.

UK Release Date: 2015

US Release Date: 2015

The Amazing Spider-Man 3

Directors: TBC

Cast:
Andrew Garfield

Genre: Superhero Adventure

Plot: The ever-troubling tale of Peter Parker's hapless superhero - expect a cast mix-up, with the news that Mary Jane Watson will appear in the threequel. Where that leaves Emma Stone is another question. Also, prepare to see the Green Goblin in some guise, as Norman Osborn's being introduced in number two.

UK Release Date: 2016

US Release Date: 10 June 2016

Bill

Director: Richard Bracewell

Cast: Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Ben Willbond, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard
