The new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is here! If you're a mobile gamer looking for an AI-powered smartphone that can handle the intense rigours that a long gaming session will put a device through, then this is the one for you.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra has a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor that makes light work of gaming, and an enhanced Vapour Chamber that significantly reduces overheating. It's also thin and light, with a large 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED screen. Read on now to find out six reasons why gamers are going to want to get their hands on the Galaxy S26 Ultra as soon as possible.

TL;DR: The Galaxy S26 Ultra is a new, AI-powered smartphone with cutting-edge features that make it ideal for mobile gaming.

1. Eye-popping visuals on a big and beautiful 6.3-inch screen

The first thing you'll notice about the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the way that it looks. This is a really stylish new smartphone, with a refined, modern aesthetic and a large 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED screen that makes mobile gaming a joy.

Photos, videos, and games all look incredibly clear, while the 120FPS refresh rate delivers buttery smooth motion and an all-round better gaming experience. Shooters like Call of Duty: Mobile run smoothly, meaning you won't lose your edge in a tense skirmish, while Asphalt Legends offers the fast-paced action you'd expect from a racer, even with the graphics settings maxed out.

2. An improved ProScaler means that mobile games look better than ever before

The quality of the screen is not the only way that the Galaxy S26 Ultra makes your games look great. It has a much-improved ProScaler1 algorithm compared to the already excellent Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) boosts the contrast and sharpness of the image, while also ensuring that colours are much more lifelike and realistic. That means you don't have to compromise by running games on lower graphics settings. It also means that your photos and videos will look sharper and more beautifully vivid than ever before.

3. The built-in AI enhances the way your phone operates

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is designed with AI at its core. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip is 35% faster than the previous generation, meaning that all of your apps – and especially your games – will run with a more optimised performance.

Intense multiplayer games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang run smoothly, with no lag, and you'll benefit from faster responsiveness in games like Rocket League Sideswipe, where every second counts. The AI will also learn how you use the Galaxy S26 Ultra, increasing efficiency and making for a more personalised experience, all while keeping your privacy intact.

4. Keep your cool with a bigger Vapour Chamber

We all know what it's like... You're in the middle of an intense Fortnite match, when you start to feel your palms getting hot, with your phone overheating. One of the most quietly impressive aspects of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its advanced cooling system, which features a redesigned Vapour Chamber.

This means that the heat from the phone running at high performance is pulled away from the CPU and spread more evenly around the handset.

This will stop "throttling" – where a game or programme slows to a crawl – ensuring you can keep on gaming, without damaging your in-game performance or scorching your hands!

5. Keep the party going with big speakers and powerful sound

Of course, the graphics are only one component of a great gaming experience. You also want to be able to hear every stirring note of the music, or feel every hit of a weapon.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra's stereo speakers are a real step up from previous models and bring you perfectly clear and well-balanced audio, with a strong emphasis on bass for viscerally exciting and immersive action.

And if you want to kick back afterwards with some tunes, the speakers are perfect for getting the party started.

6. Never run out of space with up to 1TB of internal storage

As mobile games have continued to grow in sophistication over the years so file sizes have continued to creep up. Some games are now as large as 40GB – and that's not counting the space you'll need for saves and updates. If you're into mobile gaming then it's essential that you choose a smartphone with enough storage.

Happily, that's simply not a problem for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which comes with a choice of three large storage sizes, starting at 256GB, but also available in 512GB and 1TB models. With that much storage you're not going to get stuck in the weeds of constantly deleting games, apps, and videos.

If you’re ready to get started with this amazing new smartphone, then head on over to the Samsung website, where you can read all about the Galaxy S26 Ultra, its formidable gaming capabilities, and all its other features, as well as the rest of the Samsung range.
